Broadband connection problem

When I look under network connections in the control panel there is no existing broadband connection. My modem is connected using USB. How do I set up a connection to use an ethernet connection? I need this to set up my wireless.

Re: Broadband connection problem

Best way to buy:
Usb Ethernet Adapter.

Otherwise, in that case it need Usb cable drivers to be installed in PC..... then u have to make share this Usb network connection(in network connection).
parrallel cat5 or cat6 cable should connect u'r PC to Router.

I have a BSNL boardband connection, can you tell me how can I configured?

The internet connection that you use doesn't matter with WinFax, since WinFax requires a fax modem to send and receive faxes. You cannotuse your broadband modem to send receive faxes with WinFax PRO.

First you need to decide what type of broadband service you require and these are -
1. DSL that uses your existing telephone line.
2. Cable that uses a cable service and can include a cable TV service.
3. A wireless USB adapter connects to a 3G network mobile/cell phone network and can be a separate or combined with your cell phone account.

Note - Any combined phone services (fixed line or wireless) with Internet connection generally offer discount pricing and may include a wireless adapter or modem/wireless router

If you use a wireless router with the DSL or Cable Internet service and your laptop has a wireless card then you can also connect to the Internet at WiFi hot spots like McDonalds, Star Bucks, the Airport etc.

If you use the wireless 3G wireless broadband service, then you can access the Internet anywhere where your ISP has 3G wireless coverage. You need to check the service coverage area where you need Internet service.
The advantage of using a USB wireless adapter is, you can plug it into any conputer/laptop's USB port and get Internet connection.

Once you decide what type of broadband your require, then you need to check with the various Internet Service providers to see if they can offer and thecost of the various plans.
Note the maximum download limits and the associated additional costs if you exceed the monthly download limits.

Once you sign up with a Internet Service provider, their documentation will include setting up instructions and/o rinstallation CD.

If you want to connect and disconnect at your ease, the following steps will guide you through setting up a internet connection in windows using username and password whenever you connect.
Have a good time...

Now on windows go to control panel -> Network Connections
Select “Local Area Connection” and right click it . . . Select Properties
Select TCP/IP in that box ->properties
Enter the details as follows
Set IP Address As Subnet Mask As Default Gateway As Preferred DNS Alternate DNS
Save settings and restart the computer.

Step 2: Settings for Modem Make sure the Power LED, Link LED and USB/LAN LED are on/blinking Open your browser (preferably Internet Explorer ) and goto Input as follows USERNAME : admin PASSOWRD : admin
Now goto Setup Tab then click on new connection (left side navigation frame/panel)
Now fill the details as follows Name : BSNL
Type : bridge
Sharing : disable
Priority Bits : 0 Encapsulation : LLC Select LAN : LAN GROUP 1 PVC : new VPI : 0 VCI : 35 Leave all others at default values Then click apply The go to TOOLS tab Click “system command” (left hand side) Click “save all”
Apply and restart the modem.

Step 3: Setting up Internet Connection Dailer in windows Now goto Control Panel->Network Connections Create New connection (and a wizard will pop up)
Click Next
Connect to Internet(Select the radio button and click next)
Setup My connection Manually(select it and click next)
Connect using a broadband connection that requires a user name and password (select it and click next)
ISP name (type something, anything and click next)
Type in the User name and password given to you from BSNL in the specified columns (and click next)
If you want to add a shortcut of connection to desktop, check that square box and click finish.
Double Click the Icon in the desktop to connect to the BSNL Dataone broadband connection, and either double click the same icon or right click the system tray icon to disconnect from BSNL Dataone broadband connection.

EMule TCP Port 11522 not reachable

Does you norton program have a firewall included with the software? If so, your windows firewall was probably turned off automatically because having two firewalls running simultaniosly can cause a conflict between the two firewalls and therefore will not work correctly. If you have a firewall included with your norton software make sure it is turned on and leave your windows firewall off, other wise turn your windows firewall back on.

As far as your situation with the broadband modem, I have to ask: Is your Thomson hardware a broadband router (wireless/wired), or are you using an access point? (wireless/wired) If you are using a "router" there is no way to set it up to work with the modem the cable company provided you. However, if the Thomson modem hardware is an "access point" the only thing I can suggest is to follow these steps:

1) Pull the power cord out of the back of the modem that the cable company provided to you.

2) Next, plug in your Thomson router in to the ethernet port of the computer.

3) You are then going to configure that device. Start by going to the "network and Internet" section in your control panel. There should be a section in there where you can click that says "setup a new network connection" There should be an option to set up and "access point" and it will search for your hardware. If your hardware is found you will probablybe promped to input information about your router and once that's done it should set up successfully. If it isn't successful by some chance don't give up just yet! Go to step 4-

4) Shut down your computer.

5) next, switch the ethernet cable going from your Thomson hardware to the modem from the cable company.
6) You will then need a second ethernet cable to go from a second port of the Thompson hardware in to the ethernet port on your computer.

7) next, plug the power cord back in to the modem from the cable company and your Thompson hardware and start up your computer.

You should be able to get a wired internet connection if all goes well. If you have a wireless access point go ahead and set up a separate internet connection only this time choose "wireless" and choose your settings. I hope this helps. Feel free to contact me anytime if you have more questions. Happy Holidays!

My pc wont connect to the internet. i have another pc and it says that it cant configure the network connection. it was connected to the internet but then i changed providers and now it wont?

Different providers have diffrerent ways (and devices) to connect to the internet. Some don't need any input from you, just plug the lan cable and it's on. Others need you to configure a router or setup an account. Others need that you install a program on your pc, configure that and then manually connnect to the internet.
Without more details all i can say is to look at what's written in your contract, read all the manuals for all the equipement they gave to you and if you still don't know whatr to do, post again with all the necessary details.

Wireless router

Details are difficult in written form, so I will give you a feel of what to look for. Your laptop is probably seeing a neighbors wireless signal and yours. Your security issue is that you are not using WEP or WPA. You need to enable that on your wireless router and use a password you will remember; but is not guessable.

As for the going online, while your tooling around in the router, make sure DHCP is on. If your router is connected to a modem, you may need to ensure your modem is NOT using DHCP.
