SOURCE: Oster 1.1 cu. ft. Stainless Steel Combination Microwave Grill - OMW1199

After six months I just figured it out. Push the cook by weight button in and hold it until the clock function comes on. Turn left for hour and right for minute. Figured this out by holding the cancel button in and a child lock came on, I didn't know how to release it so I reversed the process by holding it in and it cleared. I tried it with the cook by weight, which has a small clock icon next to it and voilla.

SOURCE: Hi, I have an Oster

I bought-the oster microwave and like others it did not last long before it stop heating. I took (careful precaution!!) and (unplugged the the unit!!) to view the fuse which of course is the main problem why this microwave does not heat up. Everything else works well but the heating. But since I changed the fuse to something very close to the same amp of the actual fuse it did work fine next to nothing.

I did not find any problem other than the noheating. This should only be attempted by someone who is in fact has close knowledge of electricity. The process is safe (WITH THE CORRECT PRECAUTION!!).Ever since I replaced the fuse and found out that that was all it needed I have been using it for 8 mths. Note--I did take measures into my own hands which is not recommended by anyone. But it is the old-fashion way...

Microwave light turns on and vent fan runs when door is closed. It heats fine and functions work fine. It is not heating or counting down when closed, just light and fan.

Hi,
You have a shorted door switch, not a difficult repair. You will need a micro switch and knowledge of microwave repair to replace this switch.
I hope this answered your question

Our Oster microwave operates normally, but it doesnt heat the food at all. ?

Please remove the cabinet and check the door safety interlock switches. Micro switches near the door latch assembly are #1 to failure because we open the door to check whats cooking while the machine is running. The tiny contacts arc and eventually burn. Then they are not able to tell the oven the door is closed, the magnetron is not turned on ... no magnetron ... no heat. Get replacemente at electronics parts store near you or from a FixYa.com advertiser.

I purchased a stainless steel oster microwave/convection oven in feb of this year...now the microwave will not work. The timer will start and the inside light turns on, but no heat from the microwave...

Since it's less than one year old, it should be fully covered under warranty. I'd suggest contacting the manufacturer to get it fixed free.

You can contact them at the number in your owner's manual. If you don;t have it, I'd check with the dealer to see if they have contact info.

We're happy to help you and we'd appreciate your thoughtful rating of our answer.
