Check your wiring in your vehicle to make sure that the yellow wire from the stereo gets "constant" power. It it what keeps your stereo's memory, and powers the audio amp in the stereo. If this wire is loosing power when you shut the key off in your car, you will loose all of your settings...bass, treble, tuner, clock, and also where you left off on your CD.

Do you have any problems with starting your engine? When you turn the ignition key, your starter draws a lot of current from the battery (it may be even 700Amps) - so you can say, that you "short" your battery. When you send the current to starter, the voltage from the yellow wire disappears. If you have troubles with starting your engine (bad candles or something else), then you will draw the current to a starter trying to start your engine for too long time and your receiver will lose all the settings you stored in it. Your units internal capacitors are able to maintain the set settings only few seconds after the voltage from the yellow wire disappears, so if are rotating the starter for more than few seconds, you will lose all your settings.

Kenwood how to connect

You need a stereo mini to RCA cable to connect the laptop's headphone audio jack to the Kenwood. Here is an example of one below. They are very common and available at just about any electronics store for a few bucks.

http://www.amazon.com/Gemini-PH62089-Stereo-Mini-Male-RCA-Male/dp/B0001GAOE0

The Kenwood receiver should have a number of red and white "RCA" audio connectors on the back.

Just connect the RCA portion of the cable to a spare input. They should be clearly marked on the back of the unit and color coded (red for right channel and white for left channel). But it really doesn't matter if you mix the right and left up, it will still make sound.

EX:
Most receivers will have inputs that are labeled "CD" or "Aux" that you can connect any audio source to.

If you connect your laptop or an MP3 player to the audio input connections labeled "CD" behind the Kenwood receiver, you can listen to the device by selecting the CD as the source.

It is really easy!

I dont understand how to play mp3 player on my kenwood cd player.I have the cord to hook it up to my kenwood radio but i dont know how to get the mp3 to play.

Just plug the cord into the front of the cd player where it says "AUX" and then plug the other end of the cord into the headphone / line out jack on any ipod or mp3 player then select "AUX" instead of CD and the sound will come through the system

How i can attach mp3 or memory card with my kenwood player

Hi.

If the Kenwood is compatible with USB memory adapter, then you will have an USB port on the front side of the player, just aside the CD slot.

If the stereo is MP3 compatible, that does not mean that the unit is compatible with USB devices.
If the Kenwood is MP3 but not USB compatible, you can play MP3 files burning them onto a CD, then playing the MP3 CD in the CD player.

Regards.
