Maytag dryer model lde710

The dryer works well it just wont shut off without opening the door. I have replaced the timer board and tested the capicator, also cleaned the metal bars inside the tub and checked the two wires on them. cant seem to find a problem

Older Dryer - Recently replaced main board as the on off switch was bad. Worked for a while and then the chime broke. This seems to be a very hard part to find.

While this has been on order the dryer now runs and does not shut off unless you open the door. Local repair said to clean the two bars inside - done, and pull the 2 x 2" board and reset - done.

I am not sure how to check for stuck contactor. Is there a likely part that needs replaced or better to just have service call and pay to have it looked at by a pro?

On the face of it it sounds like the timer motor is not going and has stuck in the on position, but I would seek further advice. Someone competent and qualified should check whether the timer motor is getting any voltage and is working

MED9700SQ dryer sensor light comes on but will not run

I have the same problem with the same model Maytag dryer. I called a repairman and paid a hefty service charge and the repairman found that the electronic control board needed to be replaced. This particular part (Part #8558455) costs between $250 and $350. Evidently there are many people with the same problem.

there isn't a timer on this machine, you have a control board,if the time isn't counting down correctly sounds like you have a bad control board that's inside the console

Your dryers timer contacts have fused to gether.
The only repair is to replace the timer.

Timer runs continuously - Does not stop at all

There should be a timer motor on the timer. That is most likely burnt out and will cause the timer to not shut down. Just replace the timer and that will solve the problem

Washer problems

Mardokenly, start with the door lock assy. It looks like power has to go through the wax motor assy (door lock)then the light before getting to the main control board. With the power off and harness removed from the door lock mechanism it should ohm out at 950 to 1100 ohms at room temp. If this passes the test another area to look would be the timer and control board. If the control board does not see a change in timer inputs after 5 minutes of power to it, it will shut the washer off. Things to check would be loose connections at the timer and control board. They have had a lot of service bullitins and service flashes out on this model. One of which has to do with the loss of the nuetral line from the power cord to the control board. When this happens, of course the washer will shut off. You may want to call Maytag and see if you are covered under these service bullitins. Catriver..post back.
