Question about Sony DAVHDX265 System

1 Answer

Video noise We've had the system for about a week now, its been playing DVDs fine up until about a day ago, any time we turn it on the screen gets what i guess would be called "video noise" (looks like diagonal bands of color across the screen) we attempted to replace the component video out cables with a new cable, but that doesn't seem to be the problem. Thanks in advance.

Re: Video noise

If the picture output from your system goes through your vcr to get to your tv that could be the problem. try connecting it directly to your tv

Radio doesn't work - no sound although DVDs play fine

Do you hear static noise when you turn the radio on or is it complete silence? If static noise, is there an antenna on the radio and is it getting proper signal strength?

I have a (jvc dvd digital cinema system th-s3). that will not play original dvds however it seems to play copies and cds just fine in fact all other functions work correctly. i have tried a lens cleaning...

I have the same system. I've had no trouble until a year ago, then the system got particular about when it wanted to play DVDs. I've also used lens cleaner to no avail. It plays some DVD's but plays all CD's and some copies. It has given me good service but cost me a lot of money. I hope there is a simple solution to this.

Have an RCA RTB 1023, blue rays have played fine until I played a movie last night and the voices echoed? What causes that??

A common mistake with this type of setup can make for a frustrating solution, until you realize how silly and simple it is.. I'm going to take a stab in the dark and say you have this system connected to your tv through an HDMI cable, correct? If so, please nod! Now that you've just finished nodding your head up and down at a computer screen, have a little chuckle and now we'll continue! :-P Your HDMI cable is special because not only does it deliver magnificent picture to your tv, it also carries the sound from your player to your tv as well as playing through your surround sound speakers! So here is where the fun comes in, depending on what you may have been watching on your tv that particular day, the volume level is bound to fluctuate, because of a little know fact that not all tv channels use the same sound output level as others... Ooo you've learned something new, pat yourself on the back and here is your simple solution. Next time your watch a dvd on your system turn the volume on your tv up up up, and down down down, some times there is a slight lag from the audio being played on your tv speakers than on your surround speakers. So when in doubt, just turn your tv speakers all the way down! :) enjoy

Black screen when trying to adjust settings

Double check to be sure the TV is on the proper input.

Can you still play a DVD? If DVDs still play, reset the system by unplugging the power cord for a minute. The menus should return.

If DVDs don't play either you may have accidentally changed a video setting. Fortunately you can access the video settings from series II and III systems with the buttons on top of the console. If would be best to call Bose tech support so they can walk you though accessing the video settings. 800-367-4008

Ringing noise

try changing the cable going out of tv to the system for audio, make sure the cable from tv/sat receiver is in audio out and in dvd player in the Audio In under the Video 1 bracket, then when you turn on the system click function button on the front panel it will show Video 1 on the LCD and that should work.

Black box showing up while viewing DVDs

Go to your TV remote, in the menu find the closed caption or sometimes it is on the remote itself. Turn off the closed caption. this should solve your problem. Good Luck

Crackling from surrond sound

I have a SONY home theater4.gif system, HT-C800DP, there is a crackling sound when playing DVDs - it is almost as if the unit overheats. Is there any solution to this? Sometimes I cannot even finish a DVD as the noise gets very loud.
