How to connect wifi to my wii?

First be sure you have removed the old connections setting from the Wii, then set up the new info In the Wii. That will typically work.

Connecting to enternet

Make sure you have created a NEW internet connection in your Wii System settings. Since you have changed your service, your old connection settings will no longer work. Go to your system settings from your main Wii menu, and select internet connection to set up a new one.
If you have already tried to set up a new connection and still cannot connect to the internet, make sure your router security settings allow your Wii to connect to your wireless internet.

Parental controls are lock

If you have Parental Controls turned on, but cannot remember your PIN, you will be prompted to select and answer a secret question that will allow you to change your PIN in the "Game Settings and PIN" menu

If you no longer remember your PIN, nor the answer to your secret question, then you will need to contact Nintendo Consumer Service for assistance.  To acces and change the parental control settings you SHOULD:
  1. Access the Wii System Settings
  2. Click on the blue arrow to reach the Wii System Settings 2 menu options.
  3. Choose "Parental Controls" and select "Yes."
  4. Enter the 4-digit PIN and select OK. If you have forgotten the PIN, select " I forgot" to answer the secret question. (Answers to the secret question are case sensitive.) You will now be in the Parental Controls menu, and can change the following items:

If you are unable to remember the PIN you put into the Wii, you will be prompted (when entering an incorrect PIN code) to supply the answer to the secret question you set.

If you can no longer remember your secret question's answer either, you will have to begin the PIN reset application here, through the official Nintendo website:

Hope this helps!

When console is turned off the light is glows yellow instead of red.

Yellow just means that it's on standby. If there's a new message or there's an update, your Wii will start blinking blue.

If you want to turn it completely off, just go to the Wii menu, Click the Wii icon (Options), then click Wii settings, click the right arrow to get to Wii System Settings 2, then click on Wii Connect 24, then click on Standby Connection, then click off.

Don't worry about the heat. It's normal when you have it on standby.

Wii remote cursor not showing on screen

My only idea is to check the batteries in the sensor bar. Placement of the bar (above or below the TV) never had an impact on the cursor in my experience.

My wii unit does't work. There is nothing but a black screen.

Hi.If the power light is green or orange and your screen remains blank, follow these steps.

1. Completely power down your system by pressing the power button for 10 seconds. If that doesn't work, unplug the AC Adapter from the Wii for a moment, then plug it back in.

2. Make sure your Wii console has the most current Wii system menu. Download the latest update, and then test your Wii console to determine if the problem has been resolved. If you continue to experience this issue, there is a problem with the Wii console and it will need to be repaired by a certified Nintendo service tech.

If your Wii console is currently connected on-line, you can download the latest Wii System Update by selecting the "Wii System Update" button from Wii System Settings menu. Downloading the latest Wii System Update will add the most current features to your Wii console. If you already have the latest update, on-screen messaging will indicate so after the Wii console searches the available Wii System Updates.

Wii completely stops working after power outage

I just had the same problem as everyone else. I had a brief power loss and our new Wii system's power would no longer work. To fix the problem, I unplugged everything from our Wii and unplugged the power cord from the outlet. I let the system set for 10 minutes and re-plugged the power only. That did the trick. Then I was able to plug everything back up and we are now back to playing.

Supposedly, doing the steps above resets the Wii according to the Nintendo online trouble shooting guide.

Wii standby light

To be precise, you can turn this option off from the Wii System settings -> Wii Connect 24 -> standby connection -> off

When this setting is swiched to off, your console shuts down entirely and there is a RED light on the power button. There will be no need to turn off the console pressing the power button.
