Question about Kenmore 22422 Top Load Washer
Washer moves from one sequence to the next, thru filling, draining and SPINNING, just fine. When it should be agitating, it does nothing. The timer keeps going, tho.
I took the agitator off to view the splined shaft. The shaft does not move when it should be. I listened for the motor, but the motor is NOT running during the agitation period either.
The lid switch does seem to be operational, at least it will stop spinning (during the spin cycle) if the lid is opened.
The lid switch is fine. check wiring and motor connections.it could also be a bad timer

Hello & Welcome to FixYa
When the washer fills but does not agitate or spin then you can check if the lid switch is fine. You can jump start the lid switch by connecting both the wires with each other or use the third wire to act as jumper between the two. After this if the problem is solved then replacing lid switch is recommended repair. Please get back to me if you have any other questions.
