Driver will not install. Called "Geek Squad", they say it's a comp problem. Gonna cost $159 for them to come out. We used the adapter for a year. Re-installed it before without a problem. Bought a new one, thinking the other was broken, but same result. If it is a computer problem, is there something I can do?
Hi check whether the Drivers are compatible with your operating systems. There is compatibility wizard in OS like microsoft. You can also try the old drivers and then update it.Sometimes two way swap is best way to indicate where the problems is.Test the new adapter with old drivers.Hope this help.Post any errors you get and we can work it out from there.

Well if you wanting a gateway motherboard you going to be digging a little more into the pocket book, May i suggest you buy a upgrade kit from a place called tigerdirect.com or frys.com price would be under $200.00 Availability would be depending on the shipping method you use and how to install this :
Unplug everything open the case, unplug and label you cables! From all sources on the motherboard take a phillips screw driver and unmount the main board. Place the new board reversing these steps. If you need more assistance please CHAT with us we are here 24/7 and will run you step by step for a small fee.. or take it to the GEEK squad and have the motherboard installed around $45 bucks..

Here ya go straight off the Microsoft Knowledge Base. Geek Squad too lazy to research: Code 41 Windows successfully loaded the device driver for this hardware but cannot find the hardware device. (Code 41)Recommended resolution
This problem occurs if you install a driver for a non-Plug and Play device, but Windows cannot find the device. Here are some things that you can try to resolve this problem.
If the Troubleshooting Wizard does not resolve the problem, do one of the following:
If the device was removed, uninstall the driver, connect the device, and then click Scan for hardware changes to reinstall the driver.
If the hardware was not removed, the driver files might be obsolete. In this case, update the driver from Device Manager. In the device Properties dialog box, click the Driver tab, and then click Update Driver to start the Hardware Update Wizard. Follow the instructions to update the driver.
If the device is a non-Plug and Play device, you may have to install a newer version of the driver. To install non-Plug and Play devices, use the Add Hardware wizard. Click Start, and then click Run. In the Open box, type hdwwiz.cpl.
I had a simlar problem. After spending 10 hours on the phone with the isp and the router company I gave up and called the geek squad at best buy. They came out to the house for $110.00 and it took him and hour. I went away for the weekend, had the same problme again. Called the Geek Squad again, he came out, spent another four hours fixing the problem, and it did not cost me any additional money:) I've been surfing smoothly ever since!!
If you have the original restore disk of the PC or a Windows disk you can install it again. I recommend to buy a new hard disk, open the PC and install it and then install Windows. I think that's the easiest, cheaper way to do it. The geek squad check up cost $100 + pieces and labor. A new hard disk begins in $70. If you want to do it by yourself, just let me know so I can help you in the process of configure it.
If you want to fix it yourself, you need to get the drivers. Search your system for the driver file name it is looking for and then, point the installation wizard to that folder and let it load the drivers. Typically, drivers will be loaded in C:\Windows\System32
Go back to best buy. the closest one to you. and see about yoru exteneded warranty. Toshiba dont deal with the extended warrentys.A 3rd party company is looking after it for you (best buy) i guess geek squad.. If the warrenty is out and you gotta pay 600 dollors to replace your computer motherboard. all depending on what you use it for an entry level laptop is close to 600 dollors great for web browseing and office use school, some games.
