Re: dishwasher 16719 problem

Plugged air gap line most likely. open air gap and remove small dome so that the water can pump out directly to the sink, putting a towel behind it to keep the water off the counter. when clear, put it all back.
if that is not it, your pump is bad.
good luck

Dishwashwer continues a motor noise long after the quick rinse cycle ends

Hello Deborah!

Well, don't use the quick rinse cycle!

All seriousness aside, dishwashers are supposed to stop on the pump out cycle when the water level switch trips, indicating the tub is nearly empty (a little water always remains to protect the seal).

Why your problem exists only on quick rinse is a mystery, but I would check the water level float mechanism. They have a way of accumulating grunge and sticking. While many float switches are easily accessible in the front, bottom corner of the tub (and "click" as they are raised and lowered), some live in a container on the outside of the tub and may only be checked by pulling the whole dishwasher out.

All the best.

Tablet not desolving after quick wash cycle

Find out whether your quick cycle is a wash cycle or a rinse only. If it is a wash it's obviously too short, and the tablet is not dissolving. You do not want undissolved tablets because they will contaminate your rinse water and u end up with soap on the dishes. You can switch to powder if a tablet isn't going to dissolve quick enough on your quick cycle.

How to remove debris from the drain holes at the bottom of the dishwasher tub, which is preventing the tub from draining all of the water completely?

I had a similar problem when my dishwasher wouldn't drain and was causing the kitchen sink to back up. I poured a little drain cleaner in the bottom of the tub (where the drain holes are) and let it stand for about 15 minutes then ran a hot rinse cycle (don't put any dishes in the dishwasher while you're doing any of this). The water still hadn't all drained but after a day or two of not using the dishwasher it drained on it's own and hasn't had any problems since. I would recommend reading your manual to make sure that using drain cleaner doesn't void any warranty you may have. Also, it's a good idea to do an empty rinse cycle at least once so that there's no chemicals getting on your dishes.

Water standing in tub

If there is a lot of water sitting inside the applicance, it's possible that the high water float switch has been activated and is preventing the dishwasher from running. Open the door, remove the bottom rack, dip as much water out of the bottom as possible with a shallow ladle or even tupperware container. When that is accomplished, shut the door and try to run a drain cycle. If the unit won't start, you may have to remove more water. You don't have to have the rack in place to run the drain cycle.

Kenmore dishwasher water will not stay in there

It sounds like you have a drain hose problem. The drain hose needs to have a rise in it. If it is going down hill or to a drain that is lower than the tub it can drain as fast as it fills.

Doesn't drain; glasses have film; rinses with used, soapy water

The white film problem is hard water. There is a new product out called the dishwasher filtration system. It filters the water before it enters your dishwasher. It works amazing and has a money back guarantee. You will love the way your dishes look after the first load. It is also very affordable (like 70 bucks). Go to to find out more info.

Some water stays in dishwasher (beau mark portable dishwasher

The manual says that's normal: "A small amount of clean water around the outlet on the tub bottom at the back of the tub keeps the water seal lubricated."

Under cycle setting the quick rinse light keeps flashing and dishwasher does not run.

Hey Jim, if your model starts with 665 there was a service flash on this unit concerning your problem. SF-22-715. Dishwasher stops in mid cycle. The control board was redesigned to eliminate this problem. The service flash states that if only one indicator light is blinking it's usually a stuck or shorted keypad. I would check with Sears and see if you are covered under this service flash. back.
