- There is no "Setup" button on the recorder or the remote!

- Some people may think I'm a kid but I'm 82. I bought this unit (cheap) from Geeks.com (as a refurb), to do the little recording I do rather than pay the cable co. $10 per month for their dvr. I would have thought the refurb unit wouldn't be sold in unusable condition. The manual does mention setting up access control but indicates it only acts on coded discs, not others. The setup on this unit doesn't get that far,it block every thing.

- It depends on what is considered helpful. You told me I had a problem to which there is no solution_that I am happy with. Anyway thanks, Sid

Okay, here is the issue with this. If you trying to record CABLE TV they have a lock on all digital clear qam signals without there converter box this sounds like this is what is happening. So you need to connect a cable box from the output to the input of this and then from this to the tv put this on channel 3 and turn the cable box to the channel to be recorded.

Cable company purposely black digital signals nothing you can do.

Thanks and please click the accept button

Hi,

Are you a kid?
If so, your parents have activated the V-chip that comes with all TV's and allows them to block programs that they don't want you to see. The only way to get around it is to get the secret password. If you are an adult and have nobody else who could have set the V-chip, perhaps it was set at the factory (if you bought it new) or by a previous owner (if you bought it used)..

Please leave me comment, if you need further assistance

Hi

Thanks for using FixYa. Try and reset your dvd recorder by turning it off and unplugging it for 4-5 hrs. This will reset the error, if not then follow this procedure to reset it---
  • Turn unit on,wait until finished starting up
  • Press SETUP
  • SETUP is Displayed on DVR100
  • Press Right Button
  • Press Down Button three times
  • Press Enter twice
  • Unit should revert to Factory Defaults.

Please do accept the solution if the issue is resolved or else revert for further assistance.

Thanks
Rylee
