I have a Lanier LC031. I want to print to it from a PC. I have the Fiery rip software. I know it has an ethernet port, and what appears to be a mini Centronix port. We have a bunch of PCs using XP, and a peer-to-peer network, although I'd be happy even if only one PC could print to it. Any advice you could offer would be greatly appreciated.

Re: Printing to an LC031
The mini centronix port is used to update your fiery. You need to set up an IP address, Subnet address, and gateway on the fiery. Then go to WWW.lanier.com, and download the LC031 print driver, or E7000 fiery I believe. You may want to check the fiery model. Then is a matter of installing the driver, and pointing it to the IP address.

I've seen plenty of these issues with Fiery's connected to all manner of printers. Actually, 016 errors are network related issues. The 387 usually indicate an issue with tthe switch device that the fiery is connected to and not the fiery itself. Get the connection from the fiery to the switch checked out and also the port status on the switch itself. Also recycle the Xerox and Fiery and you may also have to recycle the network switch as well.
at the end of setting up network settings it should ask if you want to save settings, click yes then its enabled. i have never had a fiery that doesnt hold its settings so its probably something you arent pressing.
there is an issue with one of the mac OS's that it just doesnt like the old fiery rips and you will never be able to print, but i'm not that clued up on the mac side and cant remember, sorry.
from your add printer section it should automatically see the x12 and give you the options of a hold, print and direct queue. I f you havent got a pc then the only queues that is useful to you is direct. Print holds the job on the hard drive and will eventually fill the server
the box that you find at the back of the machine is called fiery you can configure that when you press the arrow key top right of the screen panel. you will the option of the fiery. make sure the power of fiery is connected
