Question about Delstar DS 31024 MP3 Player

Can't do anything with it

My son got this for Christmas, I can load the songs on to it, they are showing when it is plugged into the computer. But when I unplug it, all the player will let me do is scroll through the menu, won't let me select anything. To me, it seems like something might be wrong with the play button or something? He's really wanting to listen to his music (both sisters have mp3) anybody have any ideas?

I'm having the same problem. Both children got the player for Christmas so I can't take it back.(no receipt). I put music on it but when scrolling through the menu, it won't let me access any of the options. When I press the play button, nothing happens. If I hold it too long, it cuts itself off. Any help would be appreciated.

I bought 2 Delstar DS 31024 1GB MP3 players. One of them has a similar problem. It will begin to play the song. If you press the Pause button it reboots the device. Sometimes if you press the play button it does the same thing.

Is there anything we can try?

My son figured his out... makes me feel REALLY stupid..lol....
you have to press down on the scroll button to select the thing you want on the menu... ANYway.... hope this helps someone look smarter than their kid... lol

hope i helped.... well.. hope my son helped...LOL

He says to get to the menu from where the songs are he just takes out the battery and then puts them back in... he hasn't figured that out yet.... the instruction booklet for these things aren't real clear...

I loaded 5 videos, 10 pictures and well over 150 songs on my daughters craig mp3 player and had absolutely no problem.... but that little piece of **** I can't understand it...

Well, he's happy so, I guess I am... just wish he'd gotten one like my other 2 got.

    laters :)

I also figured out that you had to press the button on the selection scroller. I might add that for ours, you had to push play at the same time and then release both. But when we did, I had two happy kids. Like GinnyBeth, I still haven't figured out how to get back to the main menu without popping out the battery. I told the kids they were on their own with that! LOL and Happy Holidays. :)

I use windows media player to put music on my ipod and it says that it is syncinh and when i plug in back in to the computer it shows all of the sons on it but they wont play...?

You need to have iTunes installed on your computer. It's a free download from Apple. Load your CD's into iTunes or buy songs from the Apple iTunes Music Store. Then You need to do a 'Restore'. Connect your iPod with the cable that came with it to the USB port on your computer. In iTunes, click and (Restore). This will rebuild all the software on the iPod and sync your songs from iTunes.
It works much better than WMP

MP3 player refuses to remove deleted songs

Don't know why it doubled loaded them but I noticed the reset on the side and thought it was worth a try. Hit reset and it cleared all the songs from the list that I had deleted.

the part you plug the wires into may be dirty and the computer may be unable to read the files. you should clean your mp3 player slots by blowing into it.

Turn off the player and let charge for about 4 hrs via USB port. This will charge the battery.

To upload songs to the player plug in to USB port and look for the removable drive through my computer or windows explorer. drag and drop MP3s into to removable drive window.

"stopped" in status field

It might be due to the memory being entirely filled up that there isn't enough room for the song you've tried to install, therefore, it might not install all the way on some of the MP3's where others will not install it at all because their system senses not enough room in there to fit it.

Have you tried to delete some space? Also, do you still own this device since it has been a few months since you've posted your question.

Thanks for your patience. Let us know how things are going for you.

Sansa shaker not playing

Funny I found this forum because I've been having the same problem. My understanding is that subscription services (yahoo music, iTunes, etc.) don't come in an mp3 file format. You can, however, add songs from cd's you own.

Here's a link you might find helpful. It's from the Sansa Forums. One of the posters describes how you can convert files. I don't know how complicated it is. Good luck! :)

I understand your frustration! I've been having the same problem. I just wasted TWO HOURS trying to get music to download onto this Shaker. The extra $40 for a better device would have been worth it! I can't afford to buy all the cd's that I'd need to fill this player with the songs my son likes. I'm thinking of bringing it back!
