Re: oven makes rushing noise when turned on

Propane gas right?if so what your hearing is blowback, propane burns very dirty therefore obstructing the air/fuel mixture in the pilot/ need to clean out the pilot and burner.gain access to the burner there should be a couple of screws and use oven cleaner to remove the soot.use gloves its messy.let me know happy new year!

My Kenmore gas range 2274233 makes a loud noise when the oven is turned on.

Since it is new--have them bring you a new one. That should have been fixed before shipment

Locked Oven Door

You mention shutting off the power. Did you use you circuit breaker to turn off the oven. If not, you should try shutting off power using the circuit breaker. Turn off breaker, wait at least a few minutes, then turn breaker back on. This may reset the oven

Hi, my range oven does not work a times then a day or to or 3 later it works again every thing else works when this happens can you help

I'd replace the oven ignitor. They get weak after a while, and performance can be spotty with older ignitors, based on day to day (or even hour to hour) supply voltage to your range. 125 volts one time, 118 volts another, will make a big difference with a marginal ignitor.

Heard popping noise and circuit to stove blew. could not set time or oven temp when reset breaker

Sounds like your oven heater failed. Not sure if its a fan oven or static type. If you hear a fan inside the oven then its classed as a fan oven

I have a GE profile electric oven. My wife is cooking a 15 hr low temp recipe. I just noticed oven off after 12 hours. does it have a safety built in?

Yes. Just think if you rushed to catch your flight for a three week vacation and forgot to turn your oven off before you left? If you check your use and care book, I believe it will tell you how to defeat the 12 hour shut off feature. (also tells how to set or disable the "Sabath" mode, among other settings)

Westinghouse self cleaning oven manual or owners manual

Many White-Westinghouse manuals can be found here: I had the same problem and was able to solve it. They didn't have the exact manual for mine (a KF450G), but they had one that was similar enough (KF580H) to solve this issue. Setting the knobs to clean is only part of the process, to get it to run you need to set the timer. Read the key information below transcribed from the manual: --- To set the controls for the cleaning cycle: 1) Close the oven door. 2) Be sure the clock shows the correct time of day. 3) Be sure the Start Time knob is set for the same time as the clock. If not, turn the knob to the time on the clock. The knob will then pop out. 4) Push in and set the Stop Time knob for 2 to 3 hours past the Start Time. Example: If the Start Time and Clock read 1:00, set the Stop Time for 3:00 or 4:00. 5) Turn the Temperature Control to CLEAN. 6) Turn the Selector to CLEAN. If all controls are set correctly, the oven signal light will come on and stay on until the oven reaches its cleaning temperature. It will then cycle on and off. --- There is more information in the manual, but it's much too much information to manually transcribe - I've only typed enough for you to get it working. Note that the LOCKED light won't light initially, it only lights once the oven exceeds 550 degrees. Once that light is on, the oven will not reopen until the temperature drops below that point, even if you stop the clean cycle. Be sure to empty out the storage drawer under the oven before cleaning.

Problem with main fan oven - electric

there is an overheat stat and this is operating and cutting out the oven. the causes are several but here are the main things to look for: oven stat is faulty causing the oven to overheat. you should check over the range to see if stat is reasonably accurate. overheat stat itself is faulty. there is another stat which turns on the casing fan. (this is the fan which is out of sight - not the fan inside the oven) if this stat is faulty and not turning on the casing fan, then the overheat stat will operate. the casing fan is faulty or jammed. lack of ventilation. see if you can narrow it down a bit and get back to me if you wish
