Frozen You know how when you turn on the mp3 it "uploads"? Well mine freezes when it starts to do that and i can't do anything with it. And after a while the screen turns blue like a tv would with a powered down VCR. I tried reseting and that won't work. I can't even reach the main menu. HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Re: Frozen

Make sure you back up all songs on the GoGear before attempting this solution.

1) Back up all files on the GoGear
2) Open up Philips Device Manager (Start --> All Programs --> Philips)
3) Click on the Repair Tab, and look for a msg that says connect the player while holding the volume + button
4) Disconnect the GoGear from the computer and turn the GoGear off - hold in the volume + button and continue to hold it as you reconnect the GoGear to the computer; after holding the volume + button for up to 20 or 30 seconds, a window will open up saying that your device is being repaired (now you can let go of the volume + button); after the repair is successfully complete, your GoGear will be good as new

Now you can do the firmware upgrade that will prevent this problem from occuring in the future. Open up Philips Device Manager and click the Update tab. This problem was caused because most GoGear's were designed for Windows XP with Media Player 10 (which is no longer the latest standard).

My gogear if frozen. Will not power off.

Hello :

Your GoGear may not respond to button presses from time to time. This is often caused by an error in the operating system and can be fixed by resetting the device. Resetting the GoGear is similar to rebooting your computer. You will not lose any of the data uploaded to the device. To reset the GoGear, press the "Reset" button located on the left of the device. The screen will go blank for a few seconds and then turn back on.

If the GoGear freezes after uploading a file to the device or if one song or sound file freezes the device each time you play it, the file is likely corrupt and needs to be removed from the GoGear. Connect the GoGear to a computer and delete the file from the device.

Frozen mp3 player

The reset hole should be at the bottom right side of the player depending on which model type you have. If a reset does not work using the reset hole, then try this: First, back up all of your music and do this: Turn off the player and disconnect it from the computer. Then press and hold the play/puse button and turn it on simultaneously. The player should be in recovery mode. Scroll down and select format (all) and let it format. Then reload all of music back onto your player and it should work like new. Hope this helps!

Mine froze in play position, but no sound.

Here's what worked for me. Mine is the Sansa M250

1)Plugged the player into the PC and removed all the MP3s

2)Downloaded update program from Sansa link below

3) Install the program

4) Plug the Sansa into your PC.

5) Program automatically starts and allows you to check for software update. Do so and let the program update your player.

Fixed my freeze problem. Player working perfectly now.
Hope this helps.

Whatever you not hit it, kick it, smash it....unless you bought it with the guarantee of anything is covered unless it's lost or stolen warranty when you bought it! I have had mine for maybe 3-4 months now & still having problems with mine. Mine wants to freeze up on me. The last time was last weekend, & at the time I'm writing this, it has again been frozen the the past hr 1/2 +. Maybe it has something to do with weekends, not sure. But last Saturday, on my way to work mine was still acting "sick". Wierd & not sure what I did or didn't do, but all of a sudden it started working....approx. 7:30 am WIERD! If you find out what may be causing your problem maybe you might be lucky to find the end of the rainbow to technology....good luck! But again, don't smash it unless you bought the extra warranty. Better yet....! Take it back to the store & get a refund! May you have a better & safe weekend, Leesa Last weekend it took maybe 12 hrs. or so to unfreeze & believe me I wanted to smash it with my foot & I did purchase the extra warranty! Not sure if you are having the same problem. Don't destroy it....instead since mine is covered for anything except lost or stolen....please DESTROY MINE!!

Frozen at start update

The secret to treating brain damage on the c150 is to definitely use the <> download. This is a *.rar file and you need to also download the 7zip freeware program to extract the contents of the file to a folder. Read the *.txt message in the folder and follow the directions and you will be back in business. Your c150 will probably occasionally have a relapse so keep the folder on your computer. This works!
