Problem for Panasonic PT-47WX53 47 in. Rear Projection HDTV Television
SD Tech you answered my panasonic tv with 3
SD Tech you answered my panasonic tv with 3 blinks and said you could post the repair for changing the ic's. I'm not sure if you have posted yet, or I just don't know where to find the instructions. On the right hand side their appears to be a coil or power pack that a large Red wire plugs into the top and goes up to 4 large Red wires, and it also has one smaller red wire going to the front of the tv. I'm not sure how to unhook this to remove the board for repair. Thanks jaybirdwv

- replaced ic's and one resistor,turned tv on and it stayed on for about 5 minutes and picture started to jump around and it shut of and again blinked 3 times. I replaced all resistors, and when I turned on tv this time it powered up and again shut down but now it blinks one time with about a 4 second pause between blinks.Oct 28, 2009
- SD Tech I replaced both ic's and one resistor that looked bad. I turned tv on and it stayed on about 5 minutes and I went to the convergent set up and the crosses started bouncing and the tv went off and the lite starter blinking 3 times again. I then replaced all the resistor on the back in front of the rear ic. When I turned on the tv this time it stopped again and now it blinks one time with about 4 seconds in between blinks. I did not replace the 3 resistor in front of the forward ic.Nov 02, 2009

no, lots of people try to remove the board--the hard way and easy to damage board---once you get the whole light box out it is much easier and safer to repair that way...usually takes me 10 minutes to get it out. SD TECH

OK, here is what I suggest you do----remove the light box from the set and unsolder all pins on both convergence chips----see if the set will turn on and light up---you can turn the set on with the remote--its receiver is at the top of the three black lens.

- if any of the resistors are bad---the one they are in front of is likely bad---if set comes on and stays on I usually (I have had this happen only a few times) just replace both chips again--where ever you bought them you should have a warranty------I know it is a pain to have to do again but for me I always have several of the chips in case this happens.SD TECH
