Re: Belkin Wireless Router

Best thing to do is to go on this website:

and download the driver or the software that they provided.
if this doesn't work you will need to call them up and order
another installation cd. but most likely this will work.

i hope this helped.

My motorola only has one ethernet port and a cable coax port in the back. I am trying to set up my belkin wireless router but can't because There is only one ethernet port. is there any way around this.

Plug the belkin router into the modem and use the router for the computer that is currently plugged in. If you have a router that doesn't have built in client ethernet ports (Wireless only), then you'll need to get one.

I want to encrypt my belkin modem with wireless G Router

Belkin, IP is to access router firmware page

Enter the default or your unique username and password.
Then, look for the security settings for your wireless connection and set it to “WPA” or “WPA-PSK, TKIP” and make your own passphrase. Then, double click on your laptop's wireless connection's icon in the system tray and connect manually to the now "secure wireless network" entering the passphrase that you set up in the router.

TIP: WEP isn't secure, but it is better than nothing.

Still stuck? Look in the wireless router's manual to learn how to secure your connection, and only then, call the router manufacturer.

How do I set up a network key, after we have already installed our Belkin wireless? And I believe we have thrown away the box that contained the disc..grrr

you wont need the disc - the default ip for a belkin i think is - simply tap this in to a browser (internet explorer) you will be asked for user and password (default is User: admin Pass: admin) from here you will be able to define any settings

Switched to cable(arris modem) can't set up network

cable dsl same thing. Did you switch providers and get new modem from them? If so. Just delete previous netowrk and install new one let pc discover new one. Also, with your router you got a disc. It should install correctly. Perhaps it is previous network that is hindering you.

Problems setting up Belkin wireless G+ mimo modem router/usb network adapter

It sounds like the router address is wrong or you are not connected to the network.. Guessing you are using Windows XP or Vista. Go to the DOS prompt ( then type ipconfig. This will bring up details on your network (see example below).

IPv4 Address. . . . . . . . . . . :
Subnet Mask . . . . . . . . . . . :
Default Gateway . . . . . . . . . :

You should see default gateway address which is the address of your router ie in your example. If this is not shown you have not connected to your router properly. If it shows a different address use the address shown to try and access your router. HTH
