Question about Jazz DV-179 Digital Camera

1 Answer

Memory First of all I found that the instruction manual wasn't very informative... it covered the basics but nothing on memory or if it needed to be charged before the first use. It just says to go ahead and turn it on so I assumed that meant it came charged? My main question is the box says that there is up to 9 hours recording on my jazz 179 camcorder and I was recording on christmas day and it said that the memory was full after not even 5 min.? I dont have a SD card but in the manual it says that this optional? do I need one of these cards to get the 9 hours of recording time?

Thank you for answering my problems, I went out and bought a 2gb chip and put it in. It still says on the top of the flip out screne that I only have alittle over an hout to record a video?

It says that I will get over 1200 pics but I want more room to record videos? does that mean that I have it set in a higher resolution, tried to find it in the manual but it doesn't show what one is basic(normal) can you tell me how to be sure that my setting on the camera is right

Ok, here's the deal...

The '9 hours' of recording time is a bench mark only... The unit only comes with 64 MB of internal memory, and when you are recording in the highest resolution, (Mpeg4) mode, then it eats up the available space really fast. Keep in mind, that in high resolution video mode, as opposed to standard, you will eat up at least 64 in about 7 minutes, not 5.

I dropped a 512 MB SD card in the camcorder, and on high resolution video, you might get away with 45 minutes to and hour. The camcorder records in 640 by 480 resolution, which isn't bad, but certainly isn't in DVD quality either...

So, pick youself up a 2 GB SD card, and you will certainly get up to at least 5 hours in standard mode. Rule of thumb, 400 MB per hour in standard mode. But, if you also go into the camera mode and take high resolution photos, that will also eat up your available storage ability...

Any other questions, just let me know...

Open the LCD 'viewfinder' to turn the camera on. Then press the center button, (Enter Button in the manual). A 'settings' menu will open and the movie mode will be the first selection, with 'resolution' highlighted. Press the enter button again to set the resolution to 'standard', which will more than double your recording time. If you set the recording resolution to 'low', it will increase your recording time to approx. 8 hours...

Remember to reduce your photo resolution as well, to increase the amount of pic's you can take with your 2 GB SD card. But remember, the more you reduce the resolution, the worse the quality is of the finished product...

I have a 512 MB SD card in my DV179, and at 'low' resolution it gives me over 2 hours of recording, but I would suspect that the recording resolution is probably somewhere around 320X480 at the most, similar to the resolution of a webcam...

Nikon coolpix s205 wont charge

It probably wasn't the charger that was bad, but the rechargeable battery. They go bad over time.
According to the manual you need an EN-EL10 rechargeable battery.

I have a Health O Meter HDM560. I need to reset the #1 and #2 users and start over, can you help me there is nothing in the manual about it I can find.

Current Instruction Manual for the HDM560 can be found here:

For resetting it would be similar to the initial setting process. FOLLOW these steps:

Lift display cover. Push "SET" button at bottom of pad. User "1" and "2" will appear.
User "1" will start blinking. Press the "USER" button to choose user "1" or "2". Once selected, press "SET" button to lock in information.
Both "HEIGHT" and "AGE" will appear on the screen. The "HEIGHT" will start blinking. Press the "UP" or "DOWN" arrows to find the correct height.

After entering height, press the "AGE" button. Use the "UP" and "DOWN" arrows to enter correct age and press "SET".

Both "MALE" and "FEMALE" images will be displayed. Press the "GENDER" button until the correct MALE/FEMALE image blinks and then press "SET". This will lock in the information.
Your correct information including User, Height, Age, and Gender will be displayed. Now you are ready to calculate weight.

Tap your person "USER" number (1 or 2) in center of scale with your toe. Your personal profile will appear. Wait until "000" appears. Stand on scale so bare feet are positioned over silver pad surface. "000" will blink your weight for approximately 3 seconds. "BF" will flash and body fat percentage will appear. The scale will turn off automatically in a few seconds.

How do i upgrade my Motorola L9 to 2 gb memory? does the phone support 2gb memory? Amoolya

  1. Open the cover
  2. Find the card slot, look at the bottom part of the unit after you hâve open the battery cover. Tip: Look for the black cover below the battery.
  3. If you have found the little black cover, pull it out, be careful not to break it because its very sensitive.
  4. After you have remove the black cover, put the memory card in.
  5. Close all the things that you have opened.
  6. Turn your phone back on and if the card wasn’t detected, go to settings then memory, then card, then options and then format. Note: only do this if the card you are using does not have any important files at this option will delete all files inside the memory card.
and yes the phone does supporft 2 GB card

Install RAm

Go here and take a look at the manual for the aspire notebook 5630 (should be similar to yours)

On page 39 theres a diagram showing the base. You basically have to unscrew the memory compartment cover , remove the cover then slot the memory in and put the cover back. RAM upgrades are really easy!
