Problem connecting my acer aspire 5600 to a projector

- Well, I am not too sure how you are supposed to connect to a projector anyway. And I don't know the external monitor function in control panel, back when my acer was new, it used to have acer arcade and that had a function for a projector. But now, I don't know how to connect to a projector. I thought a shortcut was holding down 'fn' and the clicking F6, but that doesn't seem to work. So I don't know what I am to do to make it work.
