My freezer is not working properly with clicking sound.

The clicking sound is probably the compressor relay trying to start the compressor. When the lights dim, the compressor is trying to start and hence, pulling power from the rest of the unit. If the compressor has a start capacitor, that could possibly be the problem. If not, the compressor itself should be replaced.

You have a refrigerant leak. Your coil in the freezer should be frosted. You're looking at 600 dollars minumum for repair.

Amana fridge/freezer compressor problem

Unplug unit.

It's not possible to tell which without replacing the starting system. Hard start kit would be fine. RCO410 is common. If it starts the unit the next check would be an ampmeter clamped onto one of the power leads. The ampmeter for refrigerators of that age may read around 2-5 amps when running. If it's much higher than 5 Amps after it's running be prepared to replace the compressor. Maybe it won't quit today...but it won't last with high amperage. If it doesn't start with this kit you need compressor.

Refrigerator and freezer not cooling

Hi, If the lights are dimming, the compressor is drawing to many amps when trying to start. If the refrigerator is under 5 years old, I would check into the warranty. If it is over 5 years, You will be better off to get a new refrigerator.

I hope this gives you an idea on what is happening.

Refrigerator compressor not working

unplug the fridge, remove the electrical cover on the compressor to see if any wires are burnt off.you may have a defective start relay, wire off or compressor seized, that age not cost wise to replace compressor

Fridge repeatedly tries to start running but gives up.

You haven't supplied a complete model number, however, most models with an electronic control is contolled by a main computer board. The board controls all the functions. it could be defective.
