Question about Verbatim (95058) 25 Pack 16x DVD-R Storage Media

1 Answer

Burning dvd's I have burned verbatim 8.5 gb and 4.7 only on my lap top with no problem but changed brands due to price of dvd's to Memorex along with TKD and all I get now is a message that the dvd's are non recordable. I still can burn verbatim not the others????

All DVD's I burn are set at 2.4 burnig speed as a defualt settig for the Verbatim, TDK, and Memorex 8.5 gb DVD's. I also get better results from the slower speed with the 4.7 gb DVD's with less errors in the finished product. Better Quality recordings. Changing speeds on the 8.5 gb media is not going to fix this, it has something to due with the qulity of the media purchased I think.

Hi, i recently purchased a LG dvd burner and dont have a installation cd or software. Is there another way to fix this problem?

Hello, Your computer will automatically install the basic drivers for the burner to view cds but to burn a dvd or music cd or data cd or photo cd you will need software to do so. Windows XP and newer operating systems have a simple burning software using Windows Explorer which will pull the appropriate application automatically. I recommend a program such as Nero which originally comes with most burners. But for a more advance and controlled burning program Roxio has the easiest and most versatile program for about 50.00. Keep in mind if you want to make back-up copies of bought DVD movies or software you will have to have a specific program such as DVDFab. I can send you a copy of the actual software Cd that originally comes with your burner if you need it as I have bought several LG burners which now I have multiple copies of the software with OEM Keys. They have Nero V6.6 which is good for simple disk burning. Also keep in mind when buying blank disk NEVER buy the cheap unknown brands or the cheesy store brand disks as you will waste more disk due to bad coatings than you would if you bought better brands such as Memorex or Sony. Verbatim brand is a good inexpensive disk perfect for learning how a burner works due to the cost being reasonable and if you make a mistake burning the disk its not as bad a monetary loss. After you learn how to use the burner and program and you are ready to make good permanent disks then get an archival type disk with at least a 50 year storage time, (Your local computer store will help you with picking out the right kind, these disks are expensive but if you want to store vital photos or such this is the kind you need). Also A DVD-R is the most versatile disk for most players old and new and a DVD+R if more for burning on the "fly" and for newer expensive players. A CD/DVD±RW means you can reuse a single disk more than once but are very unreliable.

When trying to burn a dvd half way thru process get burning failures any suggestions

Hello friend,
This can be caused by many things:
1. which software you use to burn dvds? i suggest Nero or CloneCD. 2. which DVD brand you use? you man use a good brand like Sony or Verbatim... 3. you may lower the burning speed by half the speed and see if this will happen again. 4. last thing, you should try different files, maybe the file that you are trying to burn is corrupted.
Best Regards,

How can I burn pictures onto a DVD, so ot can be

If you have a DVD burner you can use the burning software that came with the unit. Maybe "Sonic" or "Nero".
Start the burning software and drag add drop your pictures into the "burn window".

Check your DVD front door to see if it says DVD Writer or DVD ROM.
If it says ROM, then it is not a burner.

Best DVD or CD discs is Verbatim brand (OfficeMAX, best price).

My computer wont reconnize dvd r verbatim disks for burning wont can i do to solve this problem

Don't use verbatim brand, some model are brand specific, some problems are due to write capability of both media and burner.

Or check at manufacturer's site for any support of updating your burner media brand support.

If you want, try to experiment which media are good on your unit.

What BRANDS are compatable w/ HL-DT-ST DVD+-RW GSA-T21N?

I hate to say it but memorex are the worst quality, the reason is that the drive's laser will try to adjust its power upward to burn the disk-optimum power calibration(OPC).Some burner programs display this . I have tried over 8 packets of different memorex media and results are poor ,one in five are coasters .I suspect memorex media will destroy drive lasers as running laser at top power isn't good for its life .I hate to recomend brands but tayo uden, verbatim and sony are good media but not as cheap as memorex but more cost effective!

LaCie DVD Burner Not Doing Much of Anything

You should check for corruption of your CD/DVD burning software from whereever you got it. Sometimes some burning software isn't good enough to work adequately. I'd test some new burning software to see if that is the problem, if upbrading your burning software doesn;t do the trick. You can downlowad free trials of Roxio, NTI, and other good burners to test this hypothesis. And, of course, try calling LaCie support.
