RCA SCENIUM TV (HD50LPW175) NO PICTURE.SOUND FINE.

LAMP WENT OUT,REPLACED AND WORKED FOR TWO DAYS.ELECTIC WENT OFF AND NOW NO PICTURE.REPLACED LAMP AGAIN AND NOW THE TV IS TRYING TO LIGHT THE LAMP.BUT SCREEN STILL DARK.I AM WONDERING IF THERE IS A BLOWN FUSE NOT LETTING POWER TO THE LAMP ASS.

RCA SCENIUM HD50LPW166 worked fine, then "POP!!" has power
you lamp is bad. even if it looks good, its not firing (you're seeing the spark gap fire, indicating this). the lamp is customer replacable and roughly $200. the 5 blink error is a general shutdown error

My RCA Scenium 50in. is not turning on!!
Its sounds as if the lamp has exploded or the color wheel has. I will post a link to a site that has a trouble shooting manual on CD called RCA DLP Disc #1 which covers every DLP in the ATC line which is what your model is. They have it either in cd form or they will email it. Its a very good resource for fixing your own set.

have you tried the lamp even thogh it visualy look fine.it may still be defective and make sure the lamp door is put back properly because of the security door switch.also make sure all the fans are working and make sure the color wheel is installed properly.
find out how old is the lamp.if the lamp is close to two years old,probably the lamp is your problem.

unplug both the TV and the cable box for 2 minutes then replug them in. this will reset the micros in both units. if there is still no sound check your SAP setting make sure its off.
