The beep has an intentional sequence. Check out the motherboard manual to identify the beep pattern and the corresponding problem. For example, 3 short beeps indicate bad memory

My laptop is acer 5738z.my lap start with a beep sound but working properly.please help me

Some motherboards have a beep sound at startup.I dont know why.
The beep must be there so that the user can know the pc has booted i think.
The beep sound is no need to worry.

My packard bell imedia will not boot, when i press on button it goes red instead of blue and the shuts off after 2 seconds

i'd say your not passing the post test....if you hear a beep when you start your pc it should boot to windows screen if you dont hear beep you could have a loose cpu fan open up pc and make sure the fan is secure if not try tightening it can be tricky either that or it could be your power supply i wouldnt attempt fixing that if not sure what your doing..or try turning off your pc plug it out disconnect all periphals and press in the on button and hold for 2 minutes then try and boot
