Machine fills up with water constantly

Check for a faulty water level/pressure switch. This is a diaphragm like device with a small plastic tube (which you were blowing into) attached between the switch and the bottom of the washer's outer tub. As the water level rises, so does the pressure on the air in the plastic tube and when it reaches a certain leve it activates the switch to shut off the water. Make sure there is no obstruction in the tube and that it is not damaged in any way. The switch can be tested using a multimeter or ohmmeter and checking continuity.
