Question about Linksys Wireless-G WRT54G Router
Ok, so I'm trying to play a game with my brother through the same router, but everytime he joins a room I'm in or vice-versa, a message pops up saying NAT connection established, then showing my brother's username, and shortly after his ping would be 999. He can play with others in that same room, but we can't see eachother at all.
I'm confused on the port-forwarding, and a friend mentioned that I should setup a static ip for both my brother's computer as well as my own. I don't know how to get started with that, either, as I'm afraid I'll lose connection if I manually try changing the IP addresses. He told me that there should be five localized ip addresses that I can choose from, but he didn't tell me how to locate them. I know I'm supposed to use the second and third for the static ip adresses, just don't know where to find the five, and what else I have to change.
Also, I want to upgrade my Linksys router, and it's stated that there should be a version number on the router, but I didn't see any. The CD that came with it for installation says Version 1, but I'm just guessing that's the CD and not the router itself. Thanks in advance for help.
To find the exact version no, look at the bottom of your router at the top lefthand corner you would find a linksys logo and right below the logo you would find the model no wrt54gs and to the right of the model no you would find the ver no, it will be very small and tiny..
