Question about HTC TyTN Smartphone

1 Answer

Looking for complete on-site orderhandling apps + device

I consider purchase of tytn2 in order to handle customer visits more efficiently (I do computer support for end-users and small business). I have SBS 2003 Premium server running with Exchange and SQL 2005 and CRM3.0, which contains all the customer data. Currently I have a tablet pc (which can do all but needs to start-up and shut down) and a ordinary cellphone, but no pda.
1. What apps to use for tasks like preparing workorder, creating invoice, printing invoice at customer location, getting customer signature for receipt / ordercompletion, ...
2. Is the TyTN2 a good choice for this? Alternatives?

My tytn11 touch screen does not respond to screen taps. Everytheng else works. Navigation control and all buttons work. Have tried soft reset and screen aligning to no avail. Advice will be appreciated

I have sent my Tytn2 in to have it repaired. Seems as if it could be the screen which has to be replaced at +- SaR 95.00 or the flexi at SaR 650.00. So in a panic I spent the $12.95 to subscribe to this site unnecessarily

I'm in the process of changing from SJ22 to Smartphone running Windows Mobile 6.1 and I have found a way round this by sending data as vcard to myself in outlook then opening the attachment and saving and closing - this is then sent to your device on the next sync. It is a bit long winded but it works.

Open Outlook and leave it open.
In Palm, select the address you want to send, then in EDIT menu choose Forward as vcard, send and close the outlook pop up, saving changes.
Go to Outlook Inbox and open the attachment then save and close.

TYTN2 buttons not reponding - screen navigation fine

If a soft reset does not fix it,
Try a full hard reset:
Soft reset: Use the stylus to lightly press and hold the RESET button on the bottom of your device.
Hard reset: Press and hold the Left SOFT KEY and Right SOFT KEY, and at the same time, use the stylus to press the RESET button at the bottom of your device. You will be presented with a menu saying 'press R to reset, X to exit', if you press R Your device will be set back to factory default settings.
(The L/R soft keys are the "- -" keys just above the start and OK buttons)
Another Option if one of the SOFT KEY's is bad: START/SETTINGS/SYSTEM (tab)/CLEAR STORAGE.
