WON'T PRINT TO DESKTOP

WHEN PRINTING FROM LAPTOP TO HP DESKJET 5150, PAPER STOPS HALF-WAY THROUGHT THE PRINTER AND MESSAGE SAYING "OUT OF PAPER" POPS UP. I HAVE RELOADED THE SOFTWARE TWICE, SWAPPED PRINTERS TO ANOTHER HP 5150 THAT I KNOW WORKS AND HAVE SWAPPED OUT THE USB CABLE. SAME RESULTS. I ALSO REBOOTED, STILL WON'T PRINT.

HP Deskjet 5110 attached to a Vista laptop wont print PDF documents. When trying to print I get a message to install a printer, but I cant print from every other source OK.

If you are using Adobe Reader, check if your printer is still the default printer if you still have problem printing, then check the printing preferences in Adobe. In the Adobe Print dialog Box clic advanced preference, under postScript Option select "Send for Each Page" for "Font and Ressource Policy"

Hp 5150 only prints e-mail. When I try to print from Word, a sheet of paper goes into the printer, stops and then I get an message that the printer is out of paper. I have powered down many, many times,...

I had installed a new black print cartridge just before these problems happened. On this HP, when a new cartridge is installed, the printer must go through an alignment procedure and produce a printout in the process. For some reason I did not let the printer do this and that scrambled it's little electronic brains. The troubleshooting section of the printer's documentation recommends not only turning off the printer but unplugging it from its power source as well. Once that was done, the printer went through its alignment function, printed out the obligatory sheet and we were back to normal operations.

Lesson learned - when powering down, always unplug the printer as well as turning it off.

Paper stops half way, I get a message saying it's a paper jam or misfeed, but I can't find anything jammed

try to shutdown your printer and then ....arrange the paper properly on the tray or add some ..and then print an alignment page on it.....

HP Deskjet 5150 print is too small

Printers try to fit web pages on a single sheet of paper. If you configure the printer, in the print dialog, not to shrink images and text to fit the paper, it will print on multiple sheets of paper, but the correct size for the images and text.

In a Word document, it depends on what font size you have selected. Most people would rather have the web page print on a single sheet, with smaller images and text than were on the monitor; than tape together multiple sheets for 100% size printout.
