27'' TV will not turn off demo mode

My ancient TV/VCR Quasar combo had the same problem...and I don't have the original remote control. But holding down the "play" button for five seconds did the trick. Perhaps your TV is similar. I also read that holding down the "menu" button works as well. Hope this helps.

TV connecting to portable dvd player

You should be able to hook into your tv with no problem using a audio/video jack available at any radio shack, you would tune your tv to either the select "video" channel or ch.3, your t.v. set should have no problem with the attached device.

Is the Remote you are using an original factory supplied one from Philips?
If NI, then get one. You could ask the local Philips / Magnavox dealership, tho I have my doubts, from the age of the TV. If the dealership has one, yopu could borrow it for amn hour or so. Then use it to go to Menu>SETUP> DEMO or MENU>DEMO>DISABLE and disable the Demo function.
Otherwise, as you said, Out Front of the House on Garbage Pick UP day.

Magnavox TV won't turn on.

Not sure what buttons you could have pressed . The TV should still come on even if you pressed the parental features. This will only block certain channels out . One thing you can try is to unplug TV over night from 120V and plug it back up in the morning to see if it will reset itself . Let me know if this works . Good luck

ON the front panel of your TV, try pushing VOL-UP and VOL-Down at the same time. I've had this happen several times with Magnavox TV's. Stargazer
