my t753 is the same - I noticed the remote could control every other device fine, but was getting more difficult to control the amp. Has now stopped working. The spare ZR-2 zone remote doesn't work either. I pulled the amp apart and cleaned the ir hoping dust may be stopping it working. Nope, is stuffed. There is an IR in plug on the back of the receiver so I'm going to try that, other wise its out with the soldering iron : (

The IR jacks on the rear panel accept electrical signals, so you will need some way of decoding the IR signals (unless you have another piece of NAD equipment that you can get to recieve the IR signals of course)

I have managed to find a workaround now by using the IR inputs on the rear of the amp. Check out the following for a low cost solution

I have had the T743 for about three years now. The first unit which I got from the local shop was doing exactily like your described after couple of minutes use. Well, I took is back and got a new one covered by the warranty.

Unfortunately I never got any explanation to this problem from my local shop or anywhere else, so I guess the only way is to contact your local shop.

How to remove code set 3 for the remote control panasonic bd-45

It seems the best way to "remove code set" is to overwrite it with a different code set.

(From the Owner's manual for the Panasonic DMP-BD45)
STEP 6 :
Reprogramming the remote control
Change "Remote Control Code" (-> 28) on the main unit and
the remote control (the two must match) if you place other
Panasonic products close together and it responds to this
remote control.
You can operate the TV or amplifier/receiver using the unit's
remote control.
1 For televisions
Input the code (-> 37) with the numbered
buttons while pressing [? TV POWER].
For amplifiers/receivers
Input the code (->37) with the numbered
buttons while pressing
[RECEIVER j VOL].
e.g., 0001: [0] -> [0] ->[0] -> [1]
2 Test by turning on the television or
adjusting the volume of the amplifier/
receiver.

some remotes can be programmed by entering a manufacturers code using the numeric keys. i use a Sony RM-VLZ620 remote. it lists NAD as a supported receiver.
P.S. - a receiver is an amplifier with a built in radio tuner.

I have a Marantz SR5000 receiver that stopped responding to the remote control. seems like the remote is working properly. The receiver also works fine besides the fact that it stopped responding to the...

Read this procedure to possibly fix the remote:
http://remotes.com/remotes/servlet/rs?a=Display&contents=help_deadremote&uuid=A12963989782821
They also sell replacement remotes.

Zoom in on the picture of the original remote provided on the site (or look at your own) and get the actual remote model number.

or check eBay: search for "(model of the device or the remote) remote", check the 'include description' box. Usually cheaper than the vendors.

NAD C320 system sounds like a cheap, tinny tranny

Let's distill this down to its simplist configuration. FM source, stereo.

BTW, a search for NAD 440 only brings up a C440 >>>Tuner<<, no receivers. Are you sure about that model number? The only receiver model numbers with x40 on the NAD website are the C340 and C740, neither of which has a link to a manual (go figure). I have the C740 manual, so I'll use it for a loose reference.

If it still does what you're describing in a basic configuration and the volume control seems to affect it like you belatedly mentioned, I'd suspect a noisy volume control or some other control in the receiver (like a rarely used Tape Monitor switch) that is always there in the circuit but may have oxidized contacts and responds sometimes to burn-through.

Set the volume at a medium setting and repeatedly operate every switch, knob and button (one at a time) to gauge its effects on the sound. You may find one is the culprit. Then it's a matter of accessing it for a shot of contact cleaner.

If you have jumpers between Pre Out and Main In, it might be a good idea to reseat them, too.

My NAD M3 amplifier stops working abruptly.

If NAD doesnt respond , find a decent amp/stereo tech in your area.
I can suggest some depending on where you are.

There's most likely a component failure that regular folks wont be able to fix

My TV won't respond to the remote control

If the remote is working but the TV will not respond, it means that the little IR receiver in the TV has stopped working. This is most likely because the receiver has burned out, but it could also have come loose. This is a very easy thing to correct, but the set should be serviced by a qualified tech.
