I'm an idiot and changed my password to keep a roommate off of it and I've gone and locked myself out - I can't remember the password! I've been given many ways to go around it and none have worked yet. It's an E machine with Windows XP on it, can you help me get through without losing everything already on my computer? I have the original restore cds that came with it, but not a specific Windows xp cd.

If you have the original restore disk you can use that, if not - what operating system is it? Windows/Linux? XP, 2k, etc? I can guide you how to fix the problem.

    Ahh... Millenium.

My uncle and a friend both had the millenium edition installed with his e-machine. There lies a bigger problem... I personally cannot recommend anyone using that operating system, because not only is it full with errors, bugs, and can be compromised within minutes of being connected to the internet - Microsoft completely gave up on it and refuses to support it in anyway whatsoever.

Is there any information you need off of that pc? If so I suggest you either bootup with a cd operating system like Knoppix and copy any data you need off of it to another hard drive through a network or a usb and then reinstalling a new operating system. Millenium is not only obsolete, it is hazardous.

If there is not any important information on it, for the security of your network and anything you may use the computer for, I recommend installing windows 2000, xp, or a free linux operating system like fedora or ubuntu. I installed Fedora 7 on my uncle's emachine, his is a etower 566.. I added some more RAM though, his only had 128MB, so I bumped it up to 640MB and now it runs great.

How do i comp a specific amount off a bill in Restaurant Pro Express?

There are several ways you can do this. I suggest you setup an inventory item called DISCOUNT under the NONE department. Set the price at zero. Check box for PROMPT PRICE. When you use button, it will prompt for price. Enter amount of discount followed by "-". Be careful. This gives employees ability to punch in anything. You can set it up requiring special permission, then change employees permission to sell special items to NO. You can always set the price to a negative 10, but this limits your discounting ability. You can also put it on one of the customized buttons if you wish. COMP will not work for your scenario.
Please return and give me a favorable rating if this helps or is of value to you.
Feel free to email me with more details if need be.

It seems that video card on the computer is consuming the rest of 64 MB memory.

Get into the CMOS of the computer and reduce the video card memory.

Hope, it helps.

Computer won't reboot

Check your BIOS settings, specifically the diskette drive setting. Next, check the cabling to the drive itself. Your problem may have nothing to do with the diskette drive, but check it out. Next, have someone download hard drive diagnostics for the brand of drive in the machine. You could have errors on the drive, and a diagnostic program may locate, repair them. The startup disks, these do a full system restore, reinstall of the operating system? The machine will boot from the first startup disk and begin the reload process?
