My dell desktop is locked. How do I fix this problem

try to tell the helper, 3 things
what PC, you did.
what OS, windows? windows what, version?
is it BIOS locked, Password lost by you.?
is it stuck on the windows login screen y/n?
or deeper, like cant get to internet or cant read email on line
tell the story, not just one word LOCK. thanks
below is real 780 mobo.
the blue jumper is marked PSWD1.
this jumper removed erased the PW. ask how. if need.

Without an indicator mate you will just have to learn to look up every few seconds or watch to make sure you don't hit the button by mistake.

The screen locked up because something - most likely a virus - has deleted a critical file and the entire pc just froze. Now the entire Windows is corrupted so the pc can't start and the only way to fix that is to reinstall. And next time use a better antivirus.

sounds like a problem with your hardware - It's probably not locking up as much as either your internet connection or your computer is 'thinking' about too many things and can't process the streaming video.
You might try this: Defragment your hard drive run checkdisk to look for errors run disk cleanup on your machine

such a kind of problem occours due to a hardware device not getting detected at the time of installation. to fix this please ensure that the only devices that are connected to the system are the monitor, keyboard and mouse and then again reinitiate the reinstall\restore process. this time it should work sucessfully.

Niceeeee! this really fixed the issue after 15 seconds with the menu button preessed down the lock became unlocked. MAGIC!

for that u will have some locks or screews remove that
then u can fix ur drive on the top panel

The clacking noises are comming from the harddisk, so likely it was damaged during the power outsage, you need to backup your data b4 u loose it and change the harddisk. to backup to need Fix the hardsisk in onather PC as slave disk
