Re: vhs tape gets chewed

Dear William,
the rubber belts and rubber capstan need cleaning/conditioning. you can attempt this with alcohol swabs and if you find rubber conditioner (in the past was easy to find in audio supply stores) apply some of this also. if this treatment does not solve, then may need new rubber belt kit. good luck.

My LG RC199H vcr component eats the tape when I insert a vhs cassette.

Lots of parts can damage the tape. For example if the tape is not pulled back inside when it ejects. Another good cause is the pinch roller being damaged or out of place.
The best way to find out is put an old tape in the machine (or at least one that you don't mind be chewed up, whilst the top cover is off and you can watch the tape playing. You should be able to see the problem then and take action to correct it.

Awia HV-FX7500K has started to chew the vhs tape & Now everytime you place the VHS in the VCR it reads and ejects it within 5 seconds.

The biggest cause of that is a worn pinch roller. Replacement is the only cure. You could take off the top cover and watch an old tape being inserted. You will soon see where the tape goes wrong.

Panasonic 7350 VCR Keep ejecting tapes just seconds after loading

This happens when he strings are worn out or broken. It will not hurt to replace the strings of the VCR after some while.

Tape ejects just after insertion

the end-of-tape optical sensor is at fault. either it is very dirty, has failed or something else is detecting end of tape. many VCR's now will auto-eject the tape upon end of tape detect
