I have a Sharp Aquos Tv with plenty of HDMI ports. I also have a Cox digital cable box bringing the signal in. Just today I picked up a Panasonic DVD/surround system, (SC-PT 770) but it's only got 1 HDMI port. I have three HDMI cables, but how do I integrate the reciever/dvd player properly?
As far as I understand, all I need is HDMI cables to make everything work, but I thought the receiver went in the middle of the chain, but that's impossible with just one port.
That one port is all you need. Connect it to your tv and select source on your remote for tv and waa la. Now you have to hook up your cable box to your receiver by component cable. Check your manual it should show you how.. was this helpful?
Chances are good that your panasonic would not support HDMI 1.3b firmware and you would loose audio or video anyway. If your Panasonic has digital inputs, ie. coaxial digital or optical, run audio to your receiver and HDMI direct from Cable box/ DVD/other source to TV. On the TV settings menu, turn the speakers "off". If you need further help, post a comment and I can help you more

We have a Sony DAV-C450 system. When I turn it on, it cycles through the different options (tuner, dvd, etc.), won't allow me to open and insert a disk, shuts itself off and shows PROTECT on the dvd player window. Help!
