I got a error called "FILE ERROR" when i tried accessing a video taken 5 min before that message came.. the lcd turned blue and that screen came flashing in the centre of the screen... i couldn't access the other photos after that.. i fear i lost them all.. wat could be the reason for that problem to arise?? my friend too encountered the same.. but he could see the photos.. i couldn't... and there is another problem..

when i on the cam, it asks me to TURN OFF AND ON AGAIN. the lens doesn't come out, but the cover opens...

these both happened in the same occation and i dono whether both are interlinked...

My screen displays blue screen and 'file error', it then seems to delete the photos as I cant find them.

Please Power Reset the Camera and check if that helps.
Please turn OFF the Camera.

Then, remove the batterypack from the Camera and press the Power button for 30 seconds.

Next, reinsert the batterypack, then turn ON the Camera and check if it works.

If the issue still persists even after performing the Power Reset procedure, the Camera requires to be physically examined to determine the exact issue.
Thank you!

When looking back at photos taken, the camera freezes and flashes up 'file error'. I have tried browsing slowly as well as quickly and it still happens, it is really infuriating!

I have a DSC T70. Sometimes i get a message "File Error" for some of the pictures. For these pictures, the file does not show and when printed, the picture is merged with another picture.

Blue screen access error when viewing or taking pics or vids

Please try to take as many pictures from memory stick as you can then format memory stick through format option in setup.
Hope this will resolve this blue access issue.
You can use another memory stick like 1GB in this camera.

File errors

http://www.samsungcamera.com/popup/download.asp?prj_uid=741&prol_uid=4153
Download the english manual version pdf file and open with adobe reader go to page 84.
When you upload a file that is not taken by this camera to the removable disk, the [File Error!] message will be displayed on the LCD monitor in the play mode, and nothing is displayed in the THUMBNAIL mode.

Make sure that the memory card is formated in the camera not the memory card reader on the computer. Make sure you save your edited files in jpeg file format. Avi for movies. The manual makes it sound like the camera will not read altered files or files not taken by the camera itself. edited files are not files taken by the camera. Good luck I hope this helps.
Please rate me.
