By movies, I assume you mean the slide shows of your still images, played with a musical backdrop that this camera allows for. If so, I'm sorry to tell you that saving those to your hard drive is not possible. The camera creates those on the fly, and doesn't save them anywhere, so there's nothing to copy.

However, there are ways to recreate them, or something very similar, on your computer. One software package that gets good reviews is here: http://www.photodex.com/ - though there are many others if you just do a google search for "create photo slideshow"

Canon G10: clicking properties on camera movie files gives creation time, but after copying to computer, properties only gives copy time, not original creation time. Where did the original time go?

If you use the camera cable or a card reader to get the photos on your computer, the metadata is there. When you copy the same picture the metadata is lost and is replaced by the new data at the time it was copied.

My kingston sd 1 gb card from camera is reading as wehci when inserted on to my laptop and not showing photos stored in it

Another common problem that people have with digital cameras is that they have trouble transferring movies and photos to their laptops. To do this, all a person needs is a working computer and a USB cord. Some digital cameras come with these cords and others are found in most stores that sell electronics. Once you have this cord, it needs to be attached to both the computer and the digital camera. A folder will pop up once the computer recognizes the camera, and you can then copy files. Once the files are copies to the computer, they can then be deleted from the camera.

I have Nikon Coolpix 8400 camera and PictureProject. How can I copy or transfer movie to computer ? photos can copy but not movie. Thank for advice.

PictureProject is outdated. Download Nikon Transfer from

Alternatively, consider NOT connecting your camera to your computer. The best way to download pictures and videos from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures and videos from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use Nikon Transfer or any photo/video cataloging program.

Copying movies to computer sound won't play

Most digital HDD sony handycam video cameras encode MPEG-2 files in 5.1 surround sound audio. You probably are not hearing sound because your playback software does not support 5.1 surround sound encoded MPEG-2 files. Try using a newer peice of software with the latest codecs installed.

Download movie by Kodak Easyshare

Instead of using the software... Try uninstalling the software and use the Microsoft Scanner and Camera wizard to transfer photos/video to your computer. It should recognize everything on your camera, and then you can copy and paste the photos/videos into whatever folder you specify. In my experience, Kodak's EasyShare software was able to recognize .MOV movies. If your computer is slow, you might want to wait a while for all the processing to be done and check if the videos were recognizeD
