Changing the time

I have a CDE-9870 and for the life of me I can't figure out how to change the time. The instruction manual says NOTHING about it. Any help would be well appreciated!!

I got someone to help me, you actually hold down the mute button 3 seconds and then keep pressing it until you get to the clock option, then you have to hit the play button to lock in that choice and THEN you can adjust the time by the volume. I would of never figured that out on my own. Thanks for your help though!

If the changer has a seek button or a push on off button depress and hold for a few seconds until the time starts flashing then use the up or down seek to change time. Try it with all buttons until you find the one that makes the time start blinking, repeat the process for the minutes.

Also, you might want to try pushing the setup button until you get to the time menu. I am assuming you can then move the time up or down with the round knob button.

How do you set the clock on a cde-9870

Hello there,
This is from Page 7 of the Owners Manual, found through Alpine's site.

1 Press and hold MUTE/SETUP for at least 2 seconds
to activate the SETUP mode.
2 Press or to select the CLOCK ADJ mode, and
then press //ENT.
The time indication will blink.
3 Press or to adjust the hours while the time
indication is blinking.
4 When the hour has been adjusted, press //ENT.
5 Press or to adjust the minutes while the time
indication is blinking.
6 Press and hold MUTE/SETUP for at least 2 seconds
to return to normal mode.
• To synchronize the clock to another clock/watch or radio time
announcement, press and hold //ENT for at least 2 seconds
after setting the “hour.” Minutes will reset to “00”. If the display
shows over “30” minutes when you do this, the time will advance one
hour.
• Pressing AUDIO/RTN will return to the previous mode.
• If no operation is performed for 60 seconds, the unit will return to
normal mode automatically.

Alpine cde-9870 non-ipod mp3 player AUX FUNCTION

When you press the SOURCE/( ' ) button and select iPod as the source, make sure you turn on AUX+ so that the external device is used as the source. AUX+ is turned off when you want to use an iPod with this head unit.

I don't know why some people thought to answer your question with an answer based on a different model.

Alpine CDE 9870 Won't Eject Scratched CDs

Sounds like it's overheating. Does this unit have a small fan in the back? If so, does it work, or is the airflow blocked? Also, you can get 'steam' on the disc when coming in or out of the cold with it.

After installing the alpine CDE 9870 car stereo there was no sound... although the car speakers work.Maybe the audio in the stereo? Can thatbe fixed?

In this situation 8 times out of 10 the problem is not with the radio, it's that there are factory amplifiers. Many cars have them, and most require a little work, or an adapter to get going. Tell me the year, make, and model of the car, and perhaps I can give you more info.

How to use MP3 on it

That model has a front-auxillary port on it.
Just purchase a cable online (http://www.yourcablestore.com/6-Foot-25mm-Stereo-Headphone-Cable-Male-Male_p_76.html) or in Walmart, BestBuy, etc.
When you get it, hook one end into the stereo and the other end to your MP3 player.
Set the Aux as the source and press Play on the MP3 player.
