Question about Indesit 24 in. DE73 Evolution Free-standing Dishwasher
Have you checked there is no water in the base of the machine?
There is likely a float in there which activates a microswitch turning on the drain pump.
You could try tilting the machine through 45 degrees and see if any water comes out.
It could take only a cupful of water inside the base of the machine to trigger the safety switch

I have had this problem from time to time and is usually caused by the water pump.
Other solutions included taking the machine out slightly and rocking it from side to side, a small amount of water will pour out but only a little, but since then I have found an easier way..
Just get a rubber sink plunger, remove the filter at the bottom, make sure there is water in the bottom and then use the plunger to push the water through..
Each time I have done this it works fine.
