Change default video size for webcam

I have an application (Headmouse2) that says 640 x 480 screen size is not supported, although I don't know yet what sizes it *will* support.. 640 x 480 is the native video size for my HP webcam according to MediaSmart settings. Is there any way to change the default video size for the webcam to work with other programs?
