Well as you said that the water was spilled on the system,so it might have damaged one or more of the component on the system.Eve if it feels that the system is dry now but the water might have gone inside,so you can call the tech support if you have a valid warranty and get the parts replaced or else contact a local tech who can check each part.

[email protected] Please help me with bios password for my dell latitude E5500 Service tag: HHGMF4J-2A7B Please help... Thank you in advance

The BIOS-password exists for _your_ protection; if a thief is in possession of your computer, the password prevents the thief from using the stolen computer.

As the owner of the computer, find the original sales-receipt, to prove ownership, and telephone Dell, to get assistance from Dell to bypass that password.

Water spill

What can I advise? ... I can't really except take the hard drive out and get another laptop. If it was accidental damage, check out your insurance.
Hope that helps.

  • Hi, from the Desktop, (right click) on a empty area, when the window open. Select "Personalize" and open to Display Settings, next, check to see: Identify Monitor, click on the "Advanced Settings" button, click on the "Properties button, check the (Status of the device), check the "Disabled button, next select to "Update the Drivers, and restart the computer. Water spilled into my laptop Dell Latitude D600. what do i do

  1. Disconnect any power and remove the battery
  2. Tilt the system in various angles to drain as much of the water from the system as possible.
  3. Let the system dry for several days, (I'd say a minimum of 4) is a relatively warm place
  4. Insert Battery, see if system will power on.
If the system was powered on when the spill occurred and turned off by itself during the spill, then the motherboard has most likely been damaged and will need replacement. ($100 or so on EBay)
If the system will not power on after drying, you might consider replacement rather than repair as the cost of fixing it could exceed the replacement cost. (Dell has portables starting around $399)

Water spill on laptop

You need to take it to a professional for repair.

if you know how to take a laptop apart, you could do it yourself.
Dry the parts, might need to replace the broken parts.
