Question about Routers

Netgear DGB111G Starter Kit

Since installing the above my computer keeps locking up even while writing this it happened and I have to reboot and start again.
I have moved the unit away from a cordless phone and logitect unit that works my cordless mouse and key board which has helped but not solved the problem.
What should I do? Move the netgear to another room? In any office you have such things as cordless phones etc, are these interferring with the signal?
Please keep it simple in reply as I am not an expert I just use the dam things.
One good thing is that internet connection is 100% BETTER using this netgear.
Thanks, Roger.

Re: Netgear DGB111G Starter Kit

Path #1:
Change all of you cordless phones to another frequency (Other than 2.4 Ghz).
Path #2:
If the netgear is in the same room as you, couldn't you plug in directly an ethernet cable into the netgear? You could buy an ethernet cable at any computer stores around and they go up to 30 feet. And no CD installation would be needed, it should just work with a wire to another wire.

In my lap with windows 8 version netconnection i s not available, but with same wifi modem..NETGEAR N150 WIRELESS D S L Modem Router mobile is net.connected.

Netgear are products that are last to just about 90 days. I am a computer tech and do a lot of house and business calls to TS networks. Most problems come from Netgear, once they switch to another brand, the problem disappear. Even I had a wireless Netgear router, and had to return it because the life span was about 4 month and the complimentary support is only 90 days.
Just by rebooting the modem (turning it off and on) usually fix it for about 8 hours, then the cycle start again. After rebooting the modem/router, delete your saved network from Windows 8 and start fresh. That should work.

Keeps dropping signal to iPhone & computer

I am not able to locate a model 67, so I presume that is short name for it.

Can you look at the label on the bottom and get the full model name? Examples of Netgear model names are WRN2000.

As for the signal dropping, it is possible that the router needs a firmware update. I would suggest searching for a firmware download for the modal have.

Good luck!

Drivers for ADSL DGB111G router

No, the drivers only go up to Windows XP.

However you do not need the drivers to setup the router if you do it manually over a Ethernet connection.

You only need a copy of the manual to login correctly.

But it is no longer available.

Need to reset Netgear DGND3300 router everyday

You could try a factory reset on the router, hold the reset button on the back for 15 seconds. Reconfigure and test. If that doesn't work, go to the manufacturers site and download and install any newer fireware available. If that still doesn't work or none are available you would be best off simply replacing it. You can get some decent w-routers for $40.

There are many reasons why this might be happening.. You could try the following steps..

First connect the modem directly to the computer and see of the problem persists..if yes contact your internet service provider..if the problem doesnt show up with modem then please follow the below steps..

1) Disconnect the power from router for a minute and reconnect and check.
2) Try changing the wireless channel and Network name and try re-connecting.
3) Check if there is an firmware update for your product and update if any update is available.
4) If none of the above steps work you will need to reset and re-config your router. ( For that you need the CD given with the router and you will need the ISP settings.)

Hope this helped

I cann't connect to some specific web when using the NetGear router. I never have this problem before. I have try bypass it by connect my internet directly to the modem then the web get in is ok, by when I...

a lot of times its the sequence of the reboot for each device. what happens is, the modem connects to a particular device (computer, router, etc.) and then establishes that connection as a relationship. if you try to plug the ethernet cable into a different device without rebooting the modem, it will never connect. that being said........make all of your connections modem ethernet to router input, then router output to computer ethernet input. then, reboot the modem (with no power plugged into the netgear...its next, just no power yet). once the ready or cable light goes solid and the modem is up, plug the power supply into the router and let it do its thing, then you should see the "i" with a swoosh under it light up, it will be orange for a bit until it connects to the modem, finally turning green. from the router to the computer your start button on your desktop, click the "run" near the control panel button....a little window pops up down by the start button....type the letters cmd (short for command) and then hit ok screen for dos pops up with a blinking curser.......type ipconfig then hit enter. the first stages of numbers for the default gateways etc should read close to this (this is the ip of the router). if you see these numbers, you should be able to surf the web. you must do the reboots in the sequence as stated above.. give each interval a minute to do its thing. some newer operating systems need you to physically acknowledge the "new network detected" and select home away office...... so once the reboots and the ipconfig stuff is done but you still cant surf, restart the computer, hopefully when it comes back on it will detect the new network.
i am a senior tech for charter cable and have installed over 5000 internet connections.

I'm on AOL and use a Netgear DGB111G router. It's been fine until recently when it takes about 30 times to initialise and for the wireless, DSL & internet to set properly and then we can get on line....

It could be your router, do you update the firmware of the router? That might help. Also do you have a modem from AOL? if you disconnect the router do you get online right away?

Netgear dg834gt

I experienced a similar problem with a Vista laptop a few weeks ago. There were no apparent problems, so I uninstalled the wireless network adapter from the Windows "device manager" and then let it automatically reinstall the wireless adapter when it rebooted. The local wireless network appeared about 5 minutes after the reboot and has been working ever since. Hope this idea helps!
