Question about Dell PowerEdge 1800 Server
Thx for you help,
Yesterday i face the problem again after 25 days,(before this i already has posted a problem regarding Mega raid Error) the Error Messages displayed on the screen before restart was
"I/O Error Dev (08:08) sector xxxxxx

Then i restart and all become Ok. Now Please help me in following:-
1. which one HDD i should replaced ? Is Last one (that was burned 3 months ago.)
2. ext3 is the file system of Linux, Is all ok with Linux one HDD? should i need to reinstall the Linux?
3. If HDD is not ok then, why its not reboot again and again?
Please help me in detail so that i become sure to fix the Problem, you can also email me at email@example.com and if possible give me your email as well...
Thanking you in advance for your help
Q1: Sorry, don't understand what you're asking. If you're asking which physical disc is causing the problem, then it's the one on SCSI ID 6. (I'm assuming it's SCSI discs :)
Q2. You *can* run Linux happily on a single disc - whether you *want to* or not depends solely on how reliable you want the system to be and how secure the data.
Q3. I assume you're asking "If the HDD is faulty, why doesn't the system continuously reboot?"
You may have a disc which is on the way to being faulty - depending on temperature, humidity, power voltages etc, it may work fine and then just not quite be able to read a block and so you get the failure. Best replace it before it fails completely.
