Re: FPE26VWCW1 Frigidaire side by side. No power to
Removed the door switch. Tested OK. Removed fan; tested OK. Put back together and it worked. However, the fan for a moment had a sound like loose bearings, so I ordered a new one.

I understand the fan is not running in the freezer portion of your Frigidaire refrigerator, model# FRT21P5A. I see that the freezer is getting cold but the fan does not circulate the cold air. I suggest resetting your appliance, by either unplugging it or shutting the power off at your home's circuit breaker, for 3-5 minutes. Turn the power back on and listen for the fan to circulate the air. I ask that you please follow up with a comment on the post, at your convenience, to advise if further troubleshooting is needed or if your appliances status has changed successfully.
Temp. control for freezer set too low.
Timer switch defective
Defective Thermostat
Low refrigerant
Faulty compressor, capacitor or thermal switch
Condenser Fan at bottom back or unit not working.
Condenser clogged up or dirty (air not circulating thru it)
Due to the equipment and expertise needed to repair the unit, I suggest to call a refrigeration technician.
check that the fan in the freezer is running,it circulates the cold air,if it isclose freezer door, open refrig. door lookto the upper left you will see where the cold air enters the refrig compartment and should fill air coming thruough vent this is a motorized unit and they sometimes fail, also check the return air hole located at bottomof refrig.sometimes get blocked by plastic bags etc
Open freezer door, pull evrything out so that you can see back inner wall, look at plastic housing and see if you have ice/frost building from bottom to top of plastic cover, if so you have lost the ability to circulate air, drain possibly plugged up or evap fan not working or possible other cause. If you see ice/frost buildup shut refrig down for four days and let thaw (be sure to put towels aroundthe front of door area of freezer, the power back up and see if after starting if the fan comes on with the freezer door open and you holding in on door light switch(s). If fan does not come on within a few minutes of holding door switch(s) then evap fan is defective, call a repair tech or call samsung.
If it's new I would think the door gasket is ok but that's one thing that could cause it.
The air has to circulate by way of a vent between the freezer and fridge. Make sure the vent door is opening when you adjust the fridge temp.
To complete the circulation the freezer fan behind the back panel inside the freezer must work and the evaporator coils near the fan must not be iced up blocking the air flow. (defrost failure.)
sounds like the circulating fan(evaporator)is wearing out, this problem is very hard to diagnose because the fan will spin but not fast enough to circulate the chilled air thru the freezer and refrigerator. The parts and labor are around $300.00
sounds as if perhaps theres a fan in the freezer, copartment that is not spinning, circulating the cold air around, or if that fan is spinning you have adefost issue, not "self defrosting so the ice is building up preventing proper circulation
There is most always an adjustment that diverts part of the cooled air into the refrigerator and a fan to ensure that the air circulates.
This adjustment is generally limited so that the freezer gets the lion's share of cooling.
It sounds as if the circulating fan has failed, or, (very unlikely) the path between the two is somehow blocked.
Cancel, it is the fan motor after all. Thanks.
