Alpine sterio 6yrs old...In car system on a Jaguar XKR

I recently had to replace my car battery, and as soon as it was replaced the radio kept going from Radio to In car phone and back again every 10 seconds or so.I was advised to undo the battery for 20 mins and try again. The problem continued for some days and the seemed to corerct itself.Unfortunately a week later the sterio went silent only working on occations for a some seconds after it was left off for some hours and the car starting.Would you have any idea what may be the problem and what i should do to get it repaired?...Good Luck Andy

In case radio unit is not fitted in the orginal car dealers wouldn't help you with code by VIN number, however you can calculate your radio code from radio serial number online here:

Note, this is only place where you can get your Alpine made Jaguar radio codes online

I recently installed the Alpine iDA-X100 model and I am having difficulties with my sub and amp. It works perfectly fine when it's on radio mode, however as soon as I switch it to Ipod it turns my amp...

Initially, determine if the remote trigger of the amp is present on both instances; radio and iPod. This would be the blue or blue/white wire from head unit and would read +12VDC when the head unit is turned on. Otherwise, if +12 is present during radio mode but absent during iPod, then it might be that the internal switching would need looking into or a short temporary fix would be to wire a separate power on toggle switch for the amp.

Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards.

Thank you for using FixYa.

Radio and cd player in jaguar xj6 works sometimes,

Ir could very well be a ground wire loose. Sometimes on the car stereos they go for mor quantity than qaulity so sometimes they skimp out on the goods. I would never recommend you to tear into a Jaguar unless you knew what you were doing. If you do look on the back of the cd player and check all connections.

well you have alot of options and alot of room to work with but if i were too go with a system i suggest the pioneer 100x4 system with mosfet
they have prefab speaker boxes for your pickup or custom built for better looking
i would suggest going to audio express and have them do a run threw of special design for your vehicle

or go online and search internet images for custom sterio speaker install boxes they have alot of options but the quailty and sound i believe is what you want to look for without being to obvious

Swapping out a factory radio in a 2005 ford taurus

I don't know about the air bag but you need a special fit kit and wiring harness due to the climate controls being built in with the radio as one unit. The new kit separates the climate controls from the radio, and leaves a hole for the radio of your choice to fit into. These kits are expensive and I suggest you try to get one from ebay. Sorry, thats the downside of a Taurus.
