Re: canon digital rebel 300D silver body

I'm having the same problem. I took over 600 pics today at an event and then the 300d stopped "seeing". The eyepiece went black. I changed everything, reset everything. Still happening. Took off the lens and snapped a couple of shots - happened VERY SLOWLY. Then the photos began coming out mostly black.

Called Canon. The only thing they would say is that it's in the body of the camera and to send it in. Anywhere from 100 to 300+ dollars. Help!

Sometimes if you take photos against harsh light, it results in too much Contrast and makes the photos look in B&W. Please explain more details of the problem you are facing.

Nothing but black images. No pictures

check the settings you are using. if the shutter speed is too fast, then not enough light will get to the sensor in order to create an image.
if there is an actual problem with the light sensor on the inside, that is something you will have to get canon to look at unfortunately

My EOS 300d blank images

That problem is normally associated with having a too high shutter speed when using flash. If it happens in any mode, with or without flash you may have a shutter blind issue.

Test the camera at various shutter speeds and compare the results. If this black area is consistant across different shutter speeds, send it in for repair. It is most likely the shutter curtain not making a pass across the sensor fast enough, still obscuring the sensor when a photo was taken.

Will a quantaray 28-105 1:3.8-5.4 Zoom lens Autofocus from a 35mm rebel ti fit on Canon EOS Digital Rebel 6.3 MP 300D?

The 35mm Rebel Ti and the Rebel 300D use the same lens mounting protocol. All Canon cameras designated 'EOS' use the autofocus EF lenses. If your Quantaray lens worked on the Rebel Ti, it will fit and should work on the Rebel 300D.

Kit-lens came with Canon Digital Rebel (original first model)

The lens itself won't corrupt your data. A bad lens would be unable to focus or be unable to communicate with the camera about focal lengths, aperture etc.
It is more likely the camera itself is starting to fail. The consumer Canons are only designed for around 100,000 photos - how many has yours taken? The 300D is quite old now, so will be starting to show its age.
How may CF cards do you have? If you a few, try them in turn, formatting each on the camera and seeing if you still get the errors. If you have another lens, try that also just to put your mind at rest. If all cards fail, the CF card interface of the camera could be failing. If you only have one CF card, get another (or two!!) and if it works OK, throw the old one away.
One extra piece of info: I had a 300D but upgraded to a 350D as the 300D has a nobbled CF interface making it about 6x slower. No point buying UltraII or UltraIII cards for the 300D as it just can't use them as intended. You really notice the speed increase moving to a 350D, but have to get used to the much smaller body size.

Your problem is same me.
And now i need some disassembly procedure for replace it by my self.
The technician send, you can disassembly it from front of camera not from back to CMOS.
I only have disassembly procedure from back.
Are you have any disassembly guide from front of camera?

Canon Rebel focus

I would only suggest you might clean the metal contacts on the inside rim of the lens....just be very careful what you use....a pencil eraser is good but make sure you clean away any shavings that might get into the camera...

Cleaning the image sensor

Check with your local Camera store first or the makers website before you get handy. A very soft and fine make up brush may come in handy But check it our first
