Question about Hoover PE235 Front Load Washer
We have an ancient Hoover top loading washing machine (not on the product list). When it starts a regular wash cycle it fills OK then just makes a wirring noise until it cuts out. Pressing the reset button just restarts the wirring noise.
I took off the front panel and manually rotated the bowl back and forth a bit. Then the machine works when I reset/restart.
This has happened several times. It seems like there is excess friction somewhere in the system, so that the drive belt is slipping. Is lubrication the answer and if so how?
