This question is for my siter who is having trouble with her Compaq Presario. The screen goes black after the Compaq Welcome screen is up. She's tried unplugging the tower for over 5 minutes and it did nothing. Anything else she can try? She had been on a website to order an item and when trying to print a receipt, the computer froze. Hasn't powered up since. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Possible a bad video card. If it is intergrated card you can purchase a PCI card and install it very easy. You should have a couple of empty PCI slots. The computer freezing could be a virus or the hard drive is goin gout. Hard to tell if I am not there. If it is a good gomputer you want to keep, I recomend bringing it to a computer shop and having it checked out. If you have any more questions please contact me..Darren
