We need to know the wireless settings on your wireless access-point/router.
Check if the SSID broadcast is enabled on the wireless access-point. If it is disabled, then you have to manually add the SSID to the wireless adapter and make sure the wireless security such as WEP or WPA keys are correct.
You may also enable SSID broadcast so that the wireless adapter will detect your wireless network.
Also, you may try to change the wireless channel to 6 or 11.

My wireless USB Linksys adapter just stopped working. I checked USB port, and works fine with other usb devices. Un-installed software, re-installed three times. No matter what I try, windows keeps saying that device is not working. Re-installed drivers also. I know I'm using the correct one. All properties including dhcp/tcp/ip are configured to get address of my router correctly. I even rolled back system, made sure correct driver was installed also. My question is...I know these adapters can get warm or hot, can they just burn out? I think this is the issue. With it plugged in, and everything configured, it won't even notice any available networks, and windows pop ups just keep saying device isn't working properly and can't recongnize. Thanks, anything is appreciated. I just think it's time for a new one.
