Re: Recieving "No Signal"

I think I may have a soltion. But what I need to know, is if you're plugging the cords directly to the TV, if you have cable, an RF Modulator, etc.

I can help.

Deleting files on HD720p Aiptek camcorder

You are not doing anything wrong. For some reason, Aiptek doesn't give you this option on the camera. You have to insert you SD card into a reader and delete it that way. Ya, I know, doesn't make sense. Also, a feature I hate is it does place your videos into one continuous file. Only video clips, so each time you stop then start recording, it creates a new file. Anyway, I've had my Aiptek since 10/2008 and no problems so far. Great indoor videos. Not too crazy about the still pictures though.

The camera is burnt and now its all screwed up.

To put it bluntly, throw it away. Applying the wrong power to equipment can cause too much damage for reliable repair. Even if all the bad parts could be found and replaced, other parts will have been stressed and may fail later. Also it's very likely the circuit board has been damaged as well. Replace the unit, and be very careful to use only the proper adapter in the future.

At this point, unless you have a blu-ray or HD-DVD burner in your computer (and equivalent player), then you can't save HD to a DVD and have it play back in a regular DVD player. You should be able to transfer the HD video through firewire to the computer, but you might have to wait for a while until you can burn them to HD compatible DVDs. The only other option that I know of is to encode the HD video using a DivX codec ( and just burn the file itself to the DVD, then if your DVD player can play DivX files, then you should be able to play it back on that.
