HP Pavilion dv7 Problem.

Sounds like you have a battery problem.
Try removing the battery and starting the unit.
After the unit starts up and has settled into a normal idle screen, flip the unit over and snap the battery back in.
If the unit does not run without battery installed, or if you notice any screen flickering, you may have a bad charger. This unit should still be within warranty.
You should contact customer care via email and log your problems, a case manager will pick up on the problems and should repair at no charge to you.

your laptop is hard wired to shut down when the input is to high into this port. You more than like have a damaged AC/DC converter box in the line (the little box on in the middle of the power cord). This handy little thing converts your powerful and destructive AC current to a DC range that is compatible with the delicate circuits of your system. I would recommend refraining from plugging this system in until the cable has been replaced as you may soon encounter catastrophic failure of key components.
