Hi,the screen has gone blue blank wont do any thing

  • Anonymous Apr 30, 2009

It is definitely not the cord, as I have tried two cords and neither is working but they both work on other ipods. The screen shows an image of a plug going into a socket, indicating that it needs to be charged, but it has been plugged in for awhile and it is not charging. It is also not being recognized by my PC today although yesterday it was recognized and an update installed, but even then it would not charge. I tried holding down the menu and play buttons for over a minute but nothing happened. Help!

If you are using the same charging cable, you might check the cable. Borrow a friends cable to see if you can charge and if you can charge with someone elses cable, buy a new one for yourself.

SOURCE: ipod not turning on/not recharging

Have you tried holding down the menu button and the middle circle button?
first place your ipos somewhere flat and press down the circle button and the menu button, make sure your not touching any other part of the click wheel.hold them down for about 5 seconds untill the apple logo appears.then let go,and it should be back to normal.you can use this procedure any time that it freezes or stops working.Hope fully that should fix your problem.if not i suggest you get it repaired under your warrenty.
Good Luck.

Regards.

If you left the key in the ON possition , the battery may have drained ... but not stone cold dead... recharge the battery and turn off the radio and amps etc.... the 15" color moitors in the back of the head rests .. the Playstation and Xbox... all should be turned off too ... and try again.

Battery on my Ipod classic completely died and now wont work

The first thing to try is an ipod reset. Here are the instructions from apple on how to do this: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1320

If the battery is truly dead, they are pretty easy to replace. Same with the hard drive. Batteries go for about $8 including shipping on ebay, and in most cases come with instructions on replacing. One word of caution, when you pry the 2 halves of your ipod apart, there is a small ribbon cable on the top side. Try not to damage that :D

Forerunner 305 keeps beeping, turning on and off every 5 seconds

I think I had the same problem. You do not write if your device were connected to the PC. My device was, and I finally got the suspicision, that it died because the battery was so low, that it crashed when the PC polled it as an usb unit.
So, I connected the unit directly to the charger unit that came with the unit, and now it works. So, try to connect directly to your charger, when your battery is totally drained.

Wont turn off and wont accept PC

Did you try resetting the iPod?

You do that by holding the middle button and the Menu button for a few seconds, and the screen should go black.

If that doesn't work, try letting it drain the battery. Once it's drained, it'll shut off - then you can recharge it and activate it again.

Check the main power fuse that goes to the alternator output. if the alternator went out it could have burnt this fuse also.

your alternator most likely went bad and you were just driving on battery power with out the alternator recharging back the battery when your voltage drops to around 7.5 volts then the van will die please dont try to drive home with out fixing alternator.

I have questions for any ipod user

What is your problem? The ipod doesn't die. Believe it or not but there's a battery inside of the ipod that if you want it to be repaired. Don't send it to the apple company, they'll charge you a **** load to replace the battery. You can find an ipod battery $10-$30 easy on the net&the proper instructions on the net you can replace the battery yourself!

Battery Problem?

It's possible you damaged the battery but not likely. The ipod has a circuit inside it to prevent overcharging (i.e. it stop scharging when the battery is full).
I would try the five R's at apple's website and then try charging it again and see if it fixes the problem.
See the five R's here:
