It could be a power connection problem or possibly a safety shutoff

I am having trouble getting my Dayton Portable Oil fired Heater Model # 2E218E to keep running.

May be the primary control if you already replaced the photocell. Make sure the photocell is in direct line of sight with the flame.

I have a 2E511C heater that wont fire up but the spark plug is firing

You probably already know this . The 2E511C was manufactured by DESA for Grainger, so you must follow these Reddy Heater troubleshooting tips.

It sounds like the heater is not getting fuel or the fuel is not hitting the spark and you must troubleshoot and find out why.

Contact me for a Dayton to DESA parts cross reference chart.

Have a 120000 btu fuel fired torpedo heater that fan spins and fuel drips but no spark

fuel is atomized by the blower fan, and a sparkplug provides the ignition source. this sparkplug provides constant ignition spark for the process.

Wat the hell is wrong with my dayton heater?170,000 btu oil fired...wont stay runnin?on shut down puffs like a mutha....

Most use a spark plug to ignite fuel it could need cleaning. You also could have water in fuel or dirt
check and clean ignitor/spark plug clean fuel line and nozzle, drain and clean tank Check for water in fuel by tilting unit to have a low corner siphon fuel from that corner after 1 hr inspect for water.

Dayton kero heater wont fire0

OHH I bet this is the same question I just posted to. So it is a forced air kerosene. The usual is like I said a blocked combustion air hole. It could also be something shorting out the spark ignition to ground when replaces inspect the wires and look for a week or loose ground in this case. Sorry about the confusion.

A Bad ignition proving circuit or something like (what we call here dirt dobbers) hornets nest could be letting the flame hit it and not allowing full flow through the heater. Mice are also notorious for making problems like wires chewed and nests in the wrong place. Given where it may have been stored.

If the fan was working, but the fan is not working now after replacing the whole kit, then something was installed incorrectly during the installation, possibly the rotor gap or rotor thickness is not correct or vane/vanes installed 90 degrees off.
